LIke, OMG, my hens which are pretty diverse seem to be ALL going Broody !!

I had to close up the nest boxes because they are all just sitting.

I mean to tell ya that these hens are finding places to go broody that even I would think impossible.

I have one wild hen in a basket under a table right outside the house.

I have hens on top of old bags of feed, in the horse barn, on top of hay, I mean come on girls what is up with this ?

Isn't a bit late in the year girls ? Today, I found two little ones looking for a mother in the ailes of the chicken barn.

I threw them in with our resident silkie hen in the rabbit hutch and she has thankfully taken them in.

I just do not get it. Any one else fininding themselves in this situation.

I have been throwing eggs out of the nesting boxes now for weeks and finally had to close the thing up.

I have never seen so many hens going broody all at once !!!!???

Wow! All I can say is hatch lots and lots and lots of eggs and start selling chicks! You could start a hatchery at that rate! How exciting!

:jumpy!!!!!!!!!!And my dad needs to brake a bigger broody..infact,the broody isn't a hen. It's his daughter who hasn't hatched in five months and when he says,"Maybe next spring,"she shakes him and says,"Snap out of it!"

Although he's not going to brake that type of broody until he lets her hatch.

You know what they say about women...............................

Put a bunch of them together and their cycles sync up.

I am in the same situation. All summer my cochins and EE are broody. I'm looking into getting some silkie and some different eggs to give them.
