The Herbfarm Restaurant in Woodinville - Coyote attack

Anyone familiar with the Herbfarm Restaurant in Woodinville, WA? Just saw a story on the news (Komo) that their solar powered fence around their 150 heritage breed chickens failed and coyotes got 100 of the hens. Can't imagine what it would be like to go out to 100 dead chickens.....

Wow, that must have been some big pack of coyotes! I've never heard of even a large family of coyotes eating that many in one night. Coyotes usually eat their entire kill and leave very little behind, too. If many were left behind and/or in pieces, I would think it wasn't a coyote.

It does sound more like dogs to me, but I guess the lesson is that if you have electric fencing, it needs to be tested frequently. It's very easy for it to get shorted out and not be working.

Man. Gotta really feel a lot of sympathy for anyone who lost 100 birds in one night. What a horrid shock.
