The female tail should only be carried 10 degrees above horizontal. If you lay a straight edge along her back in the picture I think you'll see she's about right.

Is her comb too small? It doesn't get much bigger when she is laying, but definitely less pale. The female tail should only be carried 10 degrees above horizontal. If you lay a straight edge along her back in the picture I think you'll see she's about right.
Oh, now that just upsets me...I didn't see a single LF Red in the sale pens, so we just headed home after we got our bantam Reds from Bill Z. My daugther will be exhibiting at the Nationals, so hopefully we will have more time to meet and greet and hopefully find what we need. Would love to have something in place before we go though, maybe to pick up Friday evening so they will be home before the show even starts.

Looking at a picture of her when she was laying, it did seem more medium. The Standard calls for a "medium" comb. Is her comb medium? I'm not sure if it is to everyone but it could be to some. this is one of those instances where it would help if the Standard was more specific. Medium is a relative term not an exact term. Looking at her comb I can't imagine it's size would be a deficit for either breeding or show. Comb size is a 1/2 to 1 point cut & the size discrepency would need to be extreme for the bird to lose the full point.
