The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

Thank you thats two folks we know of I think there are two more on this board. One from the mid west and does anyone know of a strain in Maine? Carlow large fowl Rose Combs? Did anyone ever get some from him?

Urch, Radamaker sells them. Charlie V. has some in Minn but have not heard from him in a while. I lost his email address with the computer change over of software. He hatched his like pop corn and gave up the R I Whites and Light Brahmas which did not do so well.

Keep them coming we will not be able to suppy the demand unless we have a list of names. Even if you only have been raising them a year or two. Chickens are chickens unless they come from a feed store.

immyjay (Jim) has someRC RIR they are his first go around with them not sure if he'll have eggs for sell this season but I'm sure he will soon be on here to verify this. his stock is from Horstman's RC RIR and he has some of those super duper Mohawks too, he may be interested in doing a cross for some I don't know? PM him

Jeff

ETA can't forget Chris 09 too he has some very nice big big RC RIR he working on.

Tony does not have a old strain he lost his birds a year or so ago to illness. He is making a comeback my guess is he picked some up here and there. I though he had underwood line.

At least he sells chicks to give you something to play with.

Chris 09 has Rose Combs he is the one who lives in the mid west.

So there is a few more for you.

Any more????

I'm in Iowa with mine.

I just put a few eggs in an incubator from my Heritage RIR's that started laying not long ago. I'm curious to see the chicks. It's probably not the right time of the year to hatch chicks but I just can't wait.

These are some from the same parents along with some Rose Comb RIW's and some RSL's but a little younger than the ones out in the breeding pens. These are around 5 months old. It's so hard to get them to pose.

Alright! Boy in a few years Jim is going to have an RIR heaven over there with all he'll have to offer LOL
He needs something to do to take up his time with J/K he knows I'm kidding around here, too.

Jeff
Okay catdaddydoodle, ha,ha.
You are sooo funny but I'm lovin it and yes I know you are joking but even if you weren't it is still okay with me. I think most of you know that I take care of elderly and mentally challenged persons in my home so I see and hear it all. lol

I am very thankful to have found mheinz and to know that he is the one that got Trish Dusil's Underwood line of RIR's. He so graciously has sent me some eggs and I should get them tomorrow from both the RC and SC variety. I only have one lone pullet from what I got from Trish early last spring. I sure was wondering what I was going to do about her. Well now I don't think I will have to worry anymore. Thanks Jim.
I took a few pic's a couple of hours ago of my RC's from Dick Horstman and yes, I'm planning on putting my (knock yer socks off) Don Nelson cock bird over them around Jan/Feb and hatch out some. I then will put them back in with the RC cock bird from Dick.
The first photo is my lone Underwood line pullet that was hatched Mar 21

The next photo's are my small flock of Dick Horstman RC's. I have 3 pullets and 3 cockerels. They are just a little over 6 months.
