The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

Bob,
Now those are some nice Reds. The large fowl Red is very impressive.

For those of you that don't have a translator or peek Dutch here is the firs page translated for you.

Rhode Island Red is a medium heavy breed chickens whose plumage
are mahogany-red with black tail. Feathers must especially in
cock is shiny, almost as though it were lacquered. Breed
found in both normal size
and strongly defended. The standard is near the size
same for large Rhode Island Red and Rhode Island Red Dwarf.
Above a large RIR rooster and a dwarf RIR rooster.

There are some good sites in Germany and Switzerland. The legs on R I Reds in Europe ar longer in lenth than ours. I have seen birds with drop dead type and color and they look like red modern games. That is the way the are suppose to breed them and judge them.

Want see in light colored production reds on thier sites. These folks are strict in and take pride in what they do.

I found some other sights for the other large fowl breeders and saved their locations. I will post them latter and maybe start a new thread for Europeon poulty web sites. I have also found some wonderful water fowl sites over their. bob

They have pretty good type. There are not many Rose Comb bantams left anymore. What strain are they from?

Have you considered crossing them onto a real typey single comb line and then smooth out the combs over the nest three or five years. bob

Not sure what line they are from, I got them from a gentleman named Matt John from Indiana. At least I think that is his name. I would love to improve their type. Where can I get some real typey RIR bantams? From what I understand, Mr John has nice birds. (These were probably his culls). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am very interested in preserving rare and heritage breeds. Thank you for your input Rob! (You were the person that I was most hoping to hear from

I'm looking for hatching eggs or chicks for the 2011 season, with shipping preferably around March or April. Will anybody have anything available?
