The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

Thinkfully My birds are fertile this year :)
I have not cross any other into the line. It seems that my rooster has gotten lazy with the hens . never wanting to breed. so now since I have a new rooster in with him they have been breeding like crazy. Now if all the hens start laying. Only have 2 out of 7 so far laying.

To anyone that is interested sunnysideupmicrofarm has been listing Rose Comb RIR eggs on ebay and from their internet site for the last several weeks for those of us that wish to hatch. Listing reads "12+ Hatching eggs from our Rose Comb Rhode Island Reds! Our RC RIR are big and have great color and type. They are excellent layers of a large brown egg and their rose comb does not freeze as easily in the winter! Great free ranging, heritage breed original stock form Tim Bowles and Rick Bond"
Just figured to put it out there as i am running a hatch now. Their site also lists chicks but don't think they have any available yet.

I saw that ebay ad and looked at the pictures. It looks like they have single comb and rose comb in together. I am looking for some RC RIR LF eggs

They stated that there stock is out of Tim Bowles and Rick Bond, and that is the same lines that Dick Horstman has.
I would bet that they got there birds off of Dick and if so you would be better off just getting birds off of Dick since it is his line and his eggs are only 20.00 a dozen.
