The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

I requested to join that FB group weeks ago... still haven't been approved as a member so can't access it.
I also joined the RIR Club of America months ago... have still not heard a word from them either.
I had just assumed that the RIR Club was a very inactive group.... am I wrong?

i got accepted right to the FB group and no it is not inactive. There are posts or comments just about everyday. I would cancel your FB request and then send another one. Might have been accidentally overlooked.

Very nice younguns there Ron. I'll meet you half way and you can load them up in a wire crate and I'll bring mine and we'll just take them out of your crate and put them in mine and then I'll say THANK YOU BUDDY   ha,ha,ha.   I have plenty to raise up right now. lol   Those sure are nice though. Thanks for posting.
Jim

Thanks for the compliment Jim. I am kind of busy right now, if not I would load up and head that way!

The chicks I got from Ron look lovely right now. They are almost 14 weeks old and the males already are growing some nice dark tail feathers. All of my HRIR are very very much darker than the RIR from the hatchery I got last Sept. The color is just so much richer. These birds are so much better up close than even the pictures show.
Thanks Ron and Pauletta for the chicks I am loving them, all of them even the roosters.

20 week old birds.

I go to this face book page for the Red Club but it just does not do anything for me. I want to learn something or get some good advice and I think this tread is the best there is on the internet. We got a good discourse going here great pictures, beginners who are getting better every day with their birds. People sharing there birds with new people just getting these nice old fashion birds.

I will go and check on them now and then but I will continue to come here and see our pictures and posts.

I tell you one thing if you go to page one and read down to this post you sure should learn a lot. bob

I agree 100% with the above post. From page one up to now is like an encyclopedia on the HRIR's. Between the writings and the many pictures, there is sure a lot of knowledge in those pages.

I got to see a few HRIR up close today at a county fair. They sure are nice and so much calmer than the production type. I did feel bad for them having to stay in a cage but it was great being able to see them and ask the judge a couple of questions. I also saw some Buffs Orps that were nearly as big as the smaller turkeys.
I tried to find out the exact line but did not succeed. The lighting was not great an not a single picture of the birds turned out.
