first time I placed with a RIR :)

Is it usual for RIR's to look very upright and almost gamey while they are still growing. Ian a little bit worried about my new cockerel. I have just bought a quad from a breeder near by who has very good RIRs. I am very happy with them so far though, I find the breed very inquisitive and cheeky, they come up and nip at your fingers and run up to me already even though I only have them a week. I plan next year on getting another cockerel from a different line and a couple more hens. I am going to keep records of their laying, and the weight of carcasses after they have been cleaned out. I am also thinking about showing some birds if I get some really good ones.

Quote: I was just wondering as she is so small. I have only had one bantam in my life. All of my birds are LF. I have LF Single Comb RIW, Rose Comb RIW. Heritage RIR, Production Reds, Buff Orpingtons and Sex LInks. They are all kept in separate coops and pens.

I like showing my birds and have met so many wonderful people too. I think it is fun to show just to see how my birds stack up to others at the shows.
