.
A Red (Rhode Island Red) should look as close as passable to these 2 Black and White pictures.
They should have a brick shape to them with a long flat back with a tail angle of 20* for Males and 10* for the Females.
As for color, it said that leg and beak color should resemble the color of the bowl and mouthpiece of a corncob pipe. The shade or depth of the horn color you want is that of a well-used old-time corncob pipe. The true under color matches the color of a pack of Prince Albert pipe tobacco. If slate or smut is used, it should be the color of a totally smoked bowl of tobacco. In the vegetable section of the grocery store, is where you will find the true quill color and that is the dark blood-red shade of Binge Cherries.
This should get you started I posted a lot on here when the thread first started so you might want to go back and read some of that also you will wand to get a Standard of Perfection.
My grandaughter Kalee just had an awesome time at the Haynesville show.
She had Reserve Junior and Open Large fowl with a Buff Orp Cock bird and went on to win overall show Reserve champ with a Rhode Island Red cock. Of course that meant that she had champion Large Fowl also in the Junior and Open show
The difference between a hatchery quality RIR and a heritage RIR is too drastic to describe.
