Does anyone have chicks or hatching eggs for sale or know where I can get them. I really want the heritage reds. I've had the other red varieties and from what I have read here these are what I am looking for.
Greetings! I desperately need a mature RIR rooster who is very eager to have some exotic hens all to himself for a color project! I thought I had a source lined up months ago but then I never heard back.![]()
I live in Ayer, MA, about 45 min NW of Boston and about 30 min S of Nashua, NH. Willing to drive a couple hours to meet you. Will pay well and even send a bonus once eggs are confirmed fertile! Heck, once I get the chicks I need, I can give him back if you want. Please, please help me out!
Please contact me directly at [email protected] for fastest response, as I am too busy to surf on here like I used to!
Kind regards,
Melissa

I'm watching mine too, one bunch of four has three roos 1 pullet and the rest are too young to tell but guessing at some of them looking like little combs sticking up.I was out looking at my juvenile roosters today. They sure do look good.
I only wish I had been able to hatch more hens this past winter / early spring. I think I was at about a 75% rooster hatch rate. I wanted more hens so I kept setting a bit longer than I normally would. It is looking like I might have more of a 60-40 split with my May hatches. Still favoring the roosters though. Of course it won't be too big of a problem, the extra roos all end up in the freezer. My last batch of the season is hatching today. Only 4 eggs were set but all 4 went into lockdown and 3 have hatched so far.
