Happy birthday to my group

They are 12 months now. So shiny in the sunlight....and I still can't get over that amazing mahogany color! With great temperaments, amazing health, and tons of eggs, these birds are turning out to be about the best overall on the ranch so far. I am so proud of these american born beauties.......

Very nice!

What line do you have.

They are all from a great hatch delivered to me by Lucky Pickens Farm in Arkansas, except for one hen from an old Mowhawk line out of Georgia - From their ad they are ""from
George Ryan going well back over 3 generations in the Ryan family. I have been raising this strain for 15 years now, first breeding my line with a rooster from the Ryan line then after Mr Ryan's death several years ago I was given the last of his remaining birds to continue raising and breeding them. In 2011 I added a new rooster, "Hoss" from Roy Autry's line to add new blood to my line.""

I'm in love with them and all the chicks hatched from them so far are just as impressive....

That line is hatchery birds. They are not pure bred RIR's.

Matt

They don't look too bad, though, do they Matt? Not as bad as pure hatchery birds. I had birds from them when I first started out but got rid of them all since they weren't the quality I wanted. The birds in the photo look better than what I ended up with from them, that was 3 years ago.
