I've got a pip!

It won't let me attach any pics though.

I thought for sure these poor egg-babies had died because during incubation, I had the power go out several times, the temp jumped up to 104* on a regular basis and once up to 106*. I have one external pip and one internal pip, and hopefully the remaining four are doing well too!

Now to keep myself occupied for the day so I am not hovering over the viewing window all day...

They aren't HRIR, they're barnyard crosses (an experiment), but I am a lurker here and thought I'd share!

Some have had success by clicking on preview, clicking the insert image tool and then submitting the photos.

Yes!! lol.... I think we have more info in this thread than in those mags.. I havent been too crazy about it.

Really it is the difference between an amateur magazine, or beginner's magazine and a more professional approach. There are great magazines for the more advanced hobbyist. The Poultry Press, for example. Most devotees of each breed have a club and those clubs often publish a newsletter as well.

Another great resource is the Year Book, published by the American Poultry Association. I just got my yearbook a few week's back and it is terrific. It's an inch thick and chock full of wonderful reading material.

The Rhode Island Red club, of which I am a member, also publishes good newsletters, called The Chronicle. Since this thread is about Rhode Island Reds, I thought to mention that. Terry Wible is the publication person for The Chronicle.

I still have my RC Reds I am looking to rehome if anyone in the area is interested. I will not ship.

These are the two adult roosters and there are 2 adult hens and 6 pullets. You can see some of the pullets in the picture. These are Adrian Rademacher line birds. I am starting to think I will keep them if I do not find a serious breeder to take them. I will not split them up--buyer must take all. I also have one young cockerel.
