The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

Robert what is your Rose Comb Mohawk Project??

That is also a beautiful young rooster pictured.
LOL Jake,
I'll let Bob tell you about that if he wants to. Mum's the word on my end of this.
I do want to thank you for compliment on my young boy and YES Bob, he really is that young. He just turned 4 months.
Thanks

I am the one that found the old Mohawk gene locked up in the Old EW Reese Mrs. Donaldson Line which is a 1912 start line and still pure. I want to take a good rose comb male or female and cross onto one of the pure Mohawk birds that Matt 1616 has down here mainily for climate purposes heat and humidify issues. I want to see if I and Anthony can put a Mohawk type bird like this guy with a nice Rose Comb on his head. I want a male 27 inches tall from head to ground. 28 inches long from beak to end of tail. And built like a Brick S--t house.

Dark as can be with that old Rhode Island Red look.

Just something to do like Climbing Mt Rainer in Washington. To old to do that but old enough to make a Moahawk Rose Comb.

Heck I made a Mohawk Bantam. Took me 20 years. But I shrunk down one of these large fowl and I got a ckl this year that is 2 oz under standard weight. So when they say it can not be done. Watch us stubborn Germans. When we set our mind to something we can achieve anything we want to do.

Now if Walt can only help me make a Rhode Island Red Seroma Frizzle. That will be the last thing I do.

Got Red Rocks no That's a idea a Red Rock Seroma. Got to work on that project.

Yep. The very last... wait! Shiny object to the left!

CMOM, I'm not trying to upstage your photo's but I just took a few shots of my birds from Matt this evening and wanted to post a couple of them. I have them all posted on my site but wanted to put a couple on here.
First cockerel is starting to show some brick shape, The pullets seem to be a little on the small side but on the photo's they look pretty nice sized. The last cockerel has really heavy legs on him. These birds are just starting to get some pretty nice feathering on them. These are just 4 months and I'm so used to looking at my Underwood birds and they just seemed to mature so much quicker then the other lines. lol

This is not a criticism of Jimmy's birds I just have a question about the pullets. They seem to be sagging in the tail. I have some pullets like that too. Will that come up?

I've seen an awful lot of the real reds with the tails like that and as Bill said they will come up. Gosh, I never even thought about that. I've never had a problem with it so I guess that is the reason why. lol
Thanks for the comment on my youngun Walt. Much appreciated.
Jim
