Jimmy had to put the lid on the glue my blood pressure went up but it was a good rush. No Stokes or anything happened
Going to send a name to you of a 4H dad who needs some reds for his daughter.
Boy its hard to find large fowl Reds for every buddy. I am going to get my list of Rhode Island Red Club members out tonight and high light the ten and twenty year breeders in large fowl. I bet there are less than 5 left.
Does Don Nelson have large fowl Reds anymore?
It looks as though I will be an official owner/member of the RCRIR club next year! Just rec'd confirmation from Mr. Underwood that I am the first order rec'd for some of his large fowl reds after the first of the year! WOOT! BTW - his bantums are in high demand -- several folks already in line for those.
I'll post pictures when they arrive. In the meantime I'll keep reading and learning.

Quote: I was using wood glue not much danger with it. Super glue have not used in six months.
So Don Nelson is not going to be a supply of large fowl for us. So the sub supplies of his strain is our only hope.
Think about it if it was not for many on this tread there would be no supply of good Rhode Island Reds to help beginners.
Look forward to more nice pictures to get us fired up. bob

Okay Bob,
You were talking about the Don Nelson birds. I didn't hatch out very many this year, I was working with another line but I did get just a hand full. These are out of the birds that I hatched from NYREDS and another group from another source. They are pure Don Nelson but from two different families. I used my smallest Cock bird with my really nice long girls trying to get a longer back on my cockerels. I think this worked out very well. The daddy of this boy was short but length of back and brick shape fit his overall build. This boy seems like he is going to be pretty nice. These are just coming 6 months old right now. I just took these pictures this evening. What do you think. Anyone that has gotten eggs or chicks from me this year are out of the same mating.

Looks familiar. Took me 6 years to get the males tails like that. Width of back looks good on those pullets as well.
