Jimmy, I have been lurking and was going to post some pictures but couldn't get them to download, blamed it on my old computer but will keep trying.

It did seem that it was a little slower downloading these photo's then usual. Might be a little problem with the system but I just left it alone and went on doing something else until it got finished. lolJimmy, I have been lurking and was going to post some pictures but couldn't get them to download, blamed it on my old computer but will keep trying.
That is my problem, too! A lot of my cockerels (not the RIRs yet thank goodness) are starting to squabble. I decided if I'm going to take any of them to the Tucson show in November, I better isolate them now before they get their feathers beat up. I am discovering I do not have enough single male pens even though I have 14 such pens.My Goodness, This is the hardest time of the year for me to go through these guys and see which ones I want to keep. These are some of my birds from Matt and they really are getting so nice. They are about 6 1/2 months old and just as pretty as they can be. Most of them have really nice length and width to their backs, all of them have nice feather quality and color. Most have really good size. A few have a little more rise to the tail set. Some of them don't have the nicest comb (points) but that really isn't a big thing to me. I'm really wanting the nicest brick shape and a few of them are just great in that area. It is just that they are so nice that I hate to butcher them but I don't want to wait to long because I don't want them getting tough on me. lol I am going to do a few birds this weekend, don't know if any of these will be included or not. lol I'm in no hurry but I have a few birds here that I know aren't any good for breeding so I'm going to go ahead and take care of these ones. Sorry for so many pictures but it seems that this thread is dying out.; lol

So far I haven't had that problem. These all get along fairly well BUT they are out all day long. They run around all over the place. That is my problem, too! Thank's Bob. I think the reason he can do this so well is because he has 8 toes on that right leg. ha,ha,ha Just kidding and razzing Matt. lol
Thank you for posting the photos of your beautiful birds! For a novice like myself, it helps very much to see the images of correct birds; since I don't have the privilege of viewing quality RIRs., in person where I live. Actually, I don't know of anyone who has HRIR., in N.Ca. I have a 7+ mos. old trio, and who ever sees them; the first question is: what breed are they? and they are quite surprised when I reply: RIR.. Yes! there are numerous hatchery RIRs everywhere, and all believe that that they are the real thing. I know just how you feel Jimmie... Quote: Mine aren't squabbling yet, but they are out all day.
However... with the weather turning sold chilly over the next week, their days of free ranging for a few months will be over.
I worry I will not have enough "no squabble" space when that happens... otherwise I would be tempted to keep the final 8 I have narrowed it down to.
