The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

Gosh, they're both extremely beautiful birds! He's really, really fantastic. I'd be very proud to own them.
Thanks. It's too bad they're siblings. If they weren't, I'd probably breed them together. He's got a bit of excess black in his hackles, and she's a slightly lighter shade of red with little black in her hackles, so it would most likely balance the black in their offspring. I have another nice pullet from the other family that I think will make a good partner with him, and another cockerel that should work good with the pullet in the picture.

He is handsome. Some of my boys have nice long backs but pictures don't show it well either. Were these the test hatch eggs? I have a lot of really nice birds growing out. I recently sold the rest of my Sex-Links so now I have an open coop and pen so time to sort some more.
Thanks to you. He's the longest, and largest of 5 cockerels. His brother seems to be coming along, so I'm going to hang on to him to see how he finishes out. I'm culling 2 of the 3 cockerels from Champ, so I'll only have one cockerel from that family. Yes ma'am, these are birds from the test eggs.

I have two HRIR pullets, I just love how shiny they are! They almost look like they've been rubbed in baby oil! LOL One of my two pullets laid her first egg yesterday!! Just a tiny one but I'm sure they'll get bigger quickly I'm so eggcited!

There is a show this Saturday here. I'm not taking any of my SC Reds because of the molt so they are looking pretty shabby. I am taking a nice RC RIW male, a RC RIW female and a RC RIR female.

A few years ago a judge at a show marked on my coop tag that the legs weren't yellow enough so I consulted my friend Matt who wins most of the time and he told me it is the feed and what he feeds his birds so I now use the same feed and it made a big difference.

The birds have been bathed today. Now they are drying and preening. Beautiful day for baths.

What feed does he use?
