Its normal just like brown colored eggs and light colored eggs are on the shells. I always like a dark colored chick or chocolate colored chick ore than lighter ones , but i dont kill them if you get one.
I hatched a Buff Brahma chick yesterday that was a different shade of color than the others ,but its from the best male i ever seen so I wont worry about it. In regards to the beetle green showing up in the right places you will see your first true green in the primary wing flights when they put on their final coat of adult feathers. All other colors that you see up to that point is not worth worrying about. You have to have patients with Reds on color. You must wait till they are fully mature be for you cull them out. Then some times you can take the culls and mate them to a bird with another fault and produce great colored birds. Also, you may have to save the bird for one or two years till you produce a bird to mait to such a bird for color if they have killer type or have a bad color problem. Breeding for color is tricky and that is why most people fail. The number on reason they fail is they thing they will hit the jackpot if they cross strains. That blows up both gene pools and you have a mess.
