The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

The wind was starting to pick up as well, forcing the rain to become more harsh and heavy against their exposed skin. Take pulled over his hoodie just enough to cover his head, but not blocking the vision in his third eye. He tightened the drawstring to hold it in place from the wind and gazed down the steep slope of the mountain. From the accumulation of rain, there was bound to be a mud slide, so there was no way they could scale down safely. He searched for an area that was flat enough to hold them both, but it was a steep plummet from where they were. He faced Blair, a crash of neon blue lightening appearing in the distance, illiuminating the darkened sky for a moment as the rain and wind bashed them. “You need to hold onto me, I have to get us down from here!” he yelled, squinting his eyes to see her. He extended his dripping arms out to her, the only type of cleansing his skin received since he got to Borealis as the water loosened the mud on his hands.
Blair only just barely heard him over the noise. The wind was howling, deafening in her ears, followed by the snarling thunder that she was sure shook the ground. She wanted to crawl back inside, hide where she couldn't hear the wind and thunder that nearly sent her to her knees. She looked up at Take, her hands planted over her ears, her soaked hair sticking to her face. Another flare of blinding blue lightning shattered the sky, sizzling harshly, illuminating the sky, and at that moment she grabbed his arms tightly. She wasn't sure what exactly was happening, but she trusted him, and even amidst the chaos of the storm she knew he wasn't going to let anything happen to her.

The air grew thick and heavy pressing in on them until it was almost too hard to breathe. Followed by a loud crack of lightning that set a near by tree ablaze. The roaring thunder seemed like it was shaking the ground beneath their feet.
Fred choked down a scream. He grabbed Noah’s hand watching as the guards turned back up the hill. “Kipp! Get up! Their gone! We need to go” Fred said urgently

Take picked Blair up bridal-style, his arm wrapping around her back and the other around the bend in her knees, keeping her as close to his body as possible. His body kept its constantly warm temperature, never lowering against the cold chaotic weather. He stepped near the edge, eyeing where to land in amidst the low visibility the rain created. Come on.. it’s just a drop... why am I hesitating? I’ve done it plenty of times before. He concentrated on one point, trying to block all the noises, the chaos surrounding them so he made an accurate fall. He closed his eyes, his face content and unbothered as he took deep breaths until his eyes suddenly snapped open and he stepped over. Falling.

His landing was cushioned by some mud that hadn’t become completely wet and runny yet. Everything below his knees was submerged though, and he pulled himself out one leg at a time, forcing his way out to find someplace temporary that sheltered them from the rain so they could decide on what to do next. He never loosened his grip on Blair as he traveled further down the mountain, nearly slipping at some points from a poor foot placement. As much as he was fatigued and tired, he kept on solely on adrenaline, his heart beating loud and rapidly in his chest. Take finally reached the base of the mountain where the hills began, and sought out refuge in a wide hollow cavity in an escarpment. To their benefit, it was plenty dry and raised so that the water didn’t fill inside. He set Blair down and plopped down on the floor, squeezing his eyes shut as he tilted his head up toward the ceiling, his mouth gaped open and breathing hard. He was completely soaked, his clothes sticking to his skin, and water dripped from every inch of him.

Fred choked down a scream. He grabbed Noah’s hand watching as the guards turned back up the hill. “Kipp! Get up! Their gone! We need to go” Fred said urgently
Kipp watched silently, blinking against the rain that landed on his face. The three men who had nearly found them, slowly backed away, their eyes locked on the burning inferno escaping the now hollowed tree. What ever their motivation to be out there, it was nothing when set against the prospect of being struck by lightning. And so with an unspoken shared glance the three turned and made their way back toward safety.

"Y-yeah. I'm awake." He said rolling up into the branches of the low bush. The needley leaves grabbed at his arms, and caught in his hair. Releasing a gooey pine scented sap in protest.

Kipp pulled himself free, brushing off the larger bits of muck from his clothes. The reddish brown goop covering him seemed to indicate he had been dragged a distance while he was sleeping. Which, was concerning, that he hadn't woken up. But for now it wasn't something that mattered.

"We headed down?" He asked looking down a relatively steep slope with freshly formed tiny rivers washing out gravely pathways for itself through the soft forest floor.

“Would you rather have been caught? I had to move us. It was too much of a risk being in the open” Fred explained

There he is being defensive again, I didn't say anything. Why is he mad at me? Kipp shrugged watching Fred nervously, though he wasn't sure he could see him.
"Sorry." he said quietly, shifting his feet uncertainly. Wondering which way they were supposed to be going and not wanting to ask again.

“No I’m sorry. I am being really defensive at you for no reason” Fred said softly “I’m really tired and I’m never going to get used to being almost eaten, almost struck by lightning and almost dying from infected cuts on my back”. He looked at Kipp “forgive me?” He asked hopefully

Thinking on it, Kipp wasn't sure Fred had actually done anything that needed to be forgiven. He shrugged again, nodding confusedly and frowning down the hill. "Almost dying really sucks." He said, agreeing with no particular point being made. "Sorry I've been so... " Kipp shook his head, unable to come up with a decent word to describe how he'd been acting the last few days. "Mmnhh, weird? Around you. I just, keep having the worst day ever." He took a deep breath smiling apologetically at Fred as he let it hiss out between his teeth.
