The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Hana was unsure of what to say as she stared down at the supposedly dead cat that was now breathing? She was sure she didn’t feel a pulse, but then again, she noticed Buck was not deceased upon hearing Eve’s speech. I guess it doesn’t kill animals...
(Is a dragon not an animal? Idk. It only made sense that Rylie’s ears wouldn’t be covered but I also didn’t want him to die.)
Rylie stood up unsteadily, his ears flattened against his head, staring at Eve fearfully.
“I guess I didn’t think about the animals,” Cam said.
“Still, it’s all the better that Eve spoke when she did. If she didn’t, more than just Rylie could’ve gotten hurt,” Kyle pointed out. He nodded at her. “You did good, and possibly saved a lot of lives. I’m glad you’re on our... team.” Team? Could it be called that? Kyle couldn’t say, it hadn’t been said before.
Korim huffed, spitting rainwater onto the ground at his feet. “Should we get into the cave? I’m cold and wet. Now it is free for the taking.”
Cam shivered and nodded.

Eve nodded biting her lip. She had never meant for anyone to get hurt, but they were glad she was on their team

Chion led the ragtag group up the beach until finally making it back to the cave. She entered and paced around looking for a semi comfortable spot to settle down for the night.

Kipp followed slowly, his feet falling heavily and sinking into the wet sand under his own and Noah's weight. It was hard to believe they'd all made it out safely. He didn't even know how to process what had happened. Not entirely. He kept telling himself he'd be fine, that eventually it would just be another awful memory. But every time he thought that, he was reminded it was unlike anything he'd experienced before.
Never before had he accepted pain like that. He also had never attacked someone with as much anger and ferocity before. The idea that he had that inside of him scared him more than anything else. He didn't know if it was just a one time thing, or if it meant it was inevitable that he'd end up being just like his father, attacking every time something went wrong.

Hana had nothing to contribute to the conversation and instead sat herself down a ways away from the deceased dragon inside the cave. She wasn’t interested in investigating any further in the fissure, only seeking enough cover away from the rain. She went ahead and slung off her pack and hugged it close to her body for warmth, coldness overcoming her from wearing shorts. She wiped whatever water retained on her mask with the sleeve of her jacket and stayed closely huddled to her pack.

Fred finally stirred what felt like hours later but in reality it was only half an hour he had slept. He blinked sleepily before letting out a shriek as his eyes adjusted and seeing the beast asleep in front of him (Chion) he scrambled backwards till his back hit the stone wall of the cave they were seeking refuge in. He relaxed as he recalled the last 24 hours. “Oh Sorry Chion” he slumped in relief.

Cam and Korim sprinted back into the cave, not happy to stay in the rain any longer. Kyle walked beside Rylie, who, despite the rain walked slower. Rylie still wasn’t sure of his aliveness and confusedly walked towards the cave.
Cam shivered, the rain was miserably cold. It was actually somewhat warm in the cave. The warmth seemed to seep out of the darkness in the back.
“A dragon’s cave is warm even after the dragon’s departure.” Korim said, standing farther back in the cave and facing towards the darkness. “Does anyone have any light?” He asked.

Aella spared the dead dragon a uneasy glance, retreating inside the cave, hearing Korim's question. Her hands lit up in flames, casting light and shadows in the large cave. "Is that better?"

Chion startled awake. Jumping to her feet and looking around for the danger. She didn't know what it was Fred had seen. She edged toward the mouth of the cave poking her snout out in to the cold rain. Her long ears telescoping around listening for any out of place noise.

Kipp who'd settled down against a wall with Noah still seated on his lap, cracked his eyes open sleepily wondering if the guards had finally caught up with them. It didn't appear to be anything at all though so he closed his eyes. Hoping he could go back to sleep despite how uncomfortably he was sitting.
