The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Blair glanced ahead of the group, and her eyes fell upon somebody gaining a place in front of the group, and instantly she was pleased that somebody had the right idea. Telling everyone to move didn't seem to work. She made her way through the crowd that was at a near standstill, passing the rest of them to come up beside Ciro, her gaze flickering across the dashing and fluttering shadows. It made a odd knot of anxiety tangle itself together in her stomach, but she continued nonetheless. "Good to see that somebody has the right idea around here," she commented after a few moments of silence, giving him a brief glance for the first time since she joined him. "I'm Blair, by the way. And you are..?"
Ciro stared at his sudden companion for a moment, trying to bring himself back from the grip of hyperactive awareness enough to speak. "Pleased to meet you, Blair. I am Ciro." He tried to give her the brilliant, genuine smile he'd conjured for every introduction, but this one fell noticeably short. "I don't like this. It's as if the..." His brow knitted when caught himself before bosque slipped out. From her greeting, he figured she preferred a majority of English, just like the rest of them. "...the forest is hiding something far worse than the vago creatures we've seen so far, no?"

Kevin’s face turned red with embarrassment, although it was mostly hidden under his beard. “I- I didn’t mean it like that. What I meant was-“ he paused, it finally processing that she was joking. “Oh, you were joking. Sorry, I still have a difficult time understanding that.”
(I think Kevin is one of my favorite characters in the group so far XD)
Lilith blushed red, literally feeling the embarrassment flow off him and suddenly felt guilt waft over her. Great job, Lili. Go and screw that up."No, I'm sorry. I should've known with the linguistic barrier not to say that."

Take trudged forwards, seeing Blair and the spanish speaking guy at a distance. Finally getting more ground spreading out like this.. Even though he walked alone, he was able to fully hear his own footsteps and see the little creatures that would scamper across his path. They were like tiny frogs, but with hair and long spiky tails, That’s... freaky..
Thats when Hana came up alongside him, but distanced herself, matching his pace.
Take shot her a look, “What are you doing..” he murmured harshly to the masked girl.
Hana was quiet for a few moments, before she finally spoke in a cold whisper, “You.. have no weapon.”
Take rolled his eyes dismissively, focusing his gaze on the path, “I am a weapon” he muttered.
The girl continued walking his pace, her boots flattening the small plants that she went through.
“Get back with the group, I don’t need company” Take said brusquely, now watching the creatures that were dashing around in the trees.
Hana didn’t say a word, unfazed by his request as she walked.
Take glanced at her, then at the sword that was in a sheath on the side of her hip. He just decided to ignore her after getting no response, even though he would’ve yelled at her, but in a situation like this where the creatures could be waiting for someone to get distracted, wasn’t smart, and he was actually thinking things through.

"Good to meet you, too. Yeah, he's pretty tame." He petted Buck's ears to show her. "No, he was already a year old when we met, but I've spent at least 30 minutes with him every day for 5 years since then." He laughed lightly and gazed fondly at the big cat. "Show them how nice you are," He encouraged Buck, speaking in the strange tongue of a cougar. Buck happily obliged and nuzzled one of Nats hands with a purr.
Nat trembled as her hand was nuzzled by a cougar. "Okay, I officially have zero regret for going through that portal," she whispered in hoarse awe.
Beaming and entirely more composed than his astonished best friend, Colby carefully extended his own hand so that it hovered patiently beside Nat's. "That's so awesome. How'd you end up with a friend like him?" He knew a whole lot of licensing had to be involved to make this even remotely legal, but he wasn't going to come right out and start interrogating. For positive starters, Buck definitely looked content and in good condition, as far as he could tell.

Kevin raised an eyebrow as Fred was doused in water. Hey, at least it worked. He thought. He stood up and offered his hand to Fred. “I’m sorry, I did not mean to scare you.” Kevin said. “Remember? You went through a portal and now you’re in a forest. Nobody knows where, though. Now, if you wouldn’t mind, screaming really isn’t a good idea.”
Fred rubbed his eyes fumbling around for his glasses. “Sorry about that” he said “didn’t mean to scream.”

"I can talk to and understand any creature, as long as I look at it." He explained. "If I take off my ring, then I can hear creatures that I'm not looking at as well." He added, twisting the ring on his middle finger unconsciously
“Why don’t you keep it off all the time then?” Cam asked curiously, peering at the the silvery wolf glinting against his tanned skin. In the space of that question, her Mexican friend had disappeared. Mysterious.
By inconspicuous weaving through people and plants, Ciro had gradually wandered ahead of the group, and in doing so, unintentionally evading the determined little man that led them. He didn't want to undermine anyone, but he could not move at that pace...especially when there were unknown evils around.
In becoming hyperfocused on his surroundings, the hubbub behind him had faded to near inaudibility. He was completely immersed in the woods and the malevolence it kept cleverly veiled from them. His eyes darted to every rogue movement that the undergrowth let loose. The hair on the back of his neck prickled, but he made sure to keep his legs moving. A hesitant man was a dead man.
This reminded him way too much of Tepito after dark.
But in Tepito, he knew what to expect.
Here? Not so much.
There were innocent people here. Kids not all too different from his beloved little sisters.
So whatever was out there, he was going to meet it first.

Smack in the middle of the meandering crowd, Nat couldn't keep her eyes off the newest arrivals. "That's a cougar," she hissed to Colby.
"And beside that cougar is a Homo sapiens, which appears to be a young adult male," Colby confided conspiratorially.
His unnatural snark didn't even seem to register with Nat. "There's a guy. Literally with a cougar."
Colby shook his head, grinning his incredulity. "And, out of all this, that's what's got you riled up? A perfectly normal big cat?"

Despite Kyle specifically enunciating for him not to, Rylie shoved himself between Nat and the cougar. ‘Hey. She’s mine. Only I can show unusual camaraderie towards that girl.’
He trilled and purred and twisted around her legs, rubbing her face against them.
“Hey, Rylie!” Kyle snapped his fingers when the cat didn’t even raise his head. “We’re going in a particular direction.” Kyle hated the awkwardness of being part of a leg massage. Rylie glared back at him with an owlish twist of his neck, saying ‘I didn’t ask you to be a part of this,’ with his eyes.
(I’m home!!! Just landed in Sydney)
(Wow you must be tired! *yeets an animal attack at the characters*)

(Actually I’m not. I have slept for at least 6 hours. I should be right)

Kevin picked up Fred’s glasses and handed them to him, turning back to Lilith as he walked. “No, no, don’t be sorry. It was a funny joke, it just took me a minute to realize that.” He said, speeding up slightly to catch up to the group.
