The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Aella stared at him as he spoke, clinging to his every word. Her widened eyes finally pulled away from him and back to the grass when he started speaking to Ta, a grin forming on her face.
Special. She'd never been called special without it being filled with sarcasm and hate. But there was her second chance to really live up to his words. Sure, the entire three months was one big second chance, but his words made it clear. Made her realize it was her chance to be better. Even after they parted ways.
"It made perfect sense to me."
She got to her feet, looking down at Taquikkar and not bothering to stifle a laugh. She been around Ciro enough that she understood what he meant when he spoke in Spanish, even though some translations were choppy, but it was stil amusing nonetheless. "Yeah, animals..." She agreed, giving him a grin. Thank you didn't sound right. It wasn't good enough. She just had to hope that he understood how grateful she was. People didn't always, though. Understanding what someone meant without them actually saying it wasn't mankind's greatest skill. For her, she always listened to tone of voice and body language, but most weren't very tactful in that case, it seemed.
Ciro had made his way over to the most local chicken pen in record time. Being embarrassed by his classic inability to speak right was all but forgotten as he was wholly captivated by the myriad of perky hens.
"They're so...pretty," he mused aloud, too entranced to turn and see if Aella had joined him yet. The only live chickens he'd ever glimpsed before were in ratty, discolored feather and stuffed into a sale crate. And so he supposed they all looked like that. But, no, these were clothed in brilliant shades of well-kept reds and golds and browns, and looking like they couldn't be more content than they were merrily scratching away at the dirt. "At least I think these are chickens. Maybe not."

"What's a chicken?" As far as Aella was aware, chicken was food, not an animal. Or she was misinformed. She quickly made her way over to Ciro, suddenly aware she wasn't wearing any shoes when the sharps stones in the driveway stabbed her feet. She seemed unbothered, though, quickly reaching the pen of strange little creatures.
They were both adorable and gorgeous at the same time. Some were a beautiful dark red, tinted green by the sun reflecting off of them, and some were golds and dark browns. They had beaks like birds, and beady eyes, but had bright red spikes on there head. "A chickens an animal?" She should have known that, it seemed, but it never occurred to her. She looked at Ciro briefly, then back at the chickens. "They're adorable!"

Ciro gulped. Who was he to break it to her that people not only ate these plucky little creatures, but, in his experience, slaughtered them without a second thought nor spared any attention to doing it properly. The things he'd seen in the darker shadows of the market...
Shuddering internally and vowing to keep his silence, he knelt down and ripped a few free blades of grass from their roots. This time their sacrifice was for a noble purpose.
He nudged his fingers through the wire and offered the gifts of coveted green to the chickens. The first demanding peck he got made him flinch back, as did the second, but by the third time, he didn't react other than to relax his face to allow his grin spread wider. The boldest seemed to be a plucky white hen whose red hat flopped to the left side of her face- she didn't hesitate in grabbing a piece and then returning for more the second the grass disappeared into her beak.
"Look at this spicy chica, El." He took his grass-bearing hand away and slowly approached the wire with the other one, intent on feeling if her sleek feathers were just as soft as they appeared. But she was quick to catch on and coyly skittered away.

Aella quickly looked at the white chicken, laughing when the chicken fluttered out of Ciro' reach. It wasn't all that funny, but the way she waddled away, her red crown that covered nearly half her face flopping, was amusing to her.
"Spicy chica," she laughed, looking down towards him. "That's a funny name." She knelt beside him, wiggling her fingers through the fence at the strange looking birds. Several came over, investing her fingers and giving the occasional peck, but never close enough that she could actually though them. When one came close enough, her fingers brushed against the feathers of her neck and her gaze lit up. "Shes so soft," she murmured, trying to be quiet but it still startled the chicken enough for it to dash away from reach.

The sable that looked into Hana’s soul sometime ago ventured through the walls of Kevin’s home. It observed every individual that resided inside from small cracks in the walls and floors, making sure it’s presence was unknown to them. It had watched the whole situation with the attic from a safe distance underneath the floor boards. The information the sable gathered was enough to deem this home and inhabitants not detrimental. Though there was always that risk that one of them could be sick. Concern and confusion filled the sable as it was unable to locate the single person that they were there for, even if there were a couple individuals that it did recognize clearly. The sable continued its search through the home before returning to the second floor and carefully poking its head through a weak wood panel on a wall in one of the bedrooms. It sniffed out for the canid scent of a certain individual while trying to stay within the wall to prevent exposing itself too much if someone else were to appear.
As a border collie, border found Kit quite easily. Especially when Blair didn't come back to tell her to stay. She wiggled in place for several moments, whining until finally she dashed inside the house and up the stairs. She was careful not to knock anything over aware of how much trouble she'd get in, after breaking many things as a puppy.
She nosed the door of a bedroom open, slipping inside and looking around, her gaze quickly finding a rather strange looking creature. She froze; it wasn't quite a cat, nor like the strange ferret creature that one of Blair's friends had. It was in between. She quickly let out a loud bark, unaware if the creature possessed any danger.

The sable blinked at the sight of the rather large border collie, it wasn’t the same one it saw downstairs, but one it had seen a few times before. It was frozen as it stared back at the wide chocolate eyes of the canine, and once she let out a sharp bark, the sable was torn out of its staring trance and emerged fully from the broken panel. A faint, flickering green light washed over the sables body as it shifted into a (clothed) human, one that belonged to middle aged man with emerald green eyes, short wavy brown hair and thick facial hair. The man cautiously got down on one knee and hunched over, his hand slowly reaching out to the border collie with no ill intent in his eyes, “Shh.. it’s okay, it’s okay, no need to bark lassie.” he spoke softly, not daring to break eye contact with Kit. He could have easily recoiled and retreated into the wall when he was still a sable, but he couldn’t keep sneaking around. Besides, he was tired of getting trapped and bombarded with spiderwebs in such tight spaces.

Cam went upstairs to stare glumly at the incriminating hole in the ceiling, but rather than noticing Fred’s weak attempts at cleaning up the paint chips, she saw something that sent panic through her veins before screaming...
“Ahhh! A man! There’s a man upstairs!”
That’s when she realized it was Take’s adoptive dad. “Oh, you. What are you doing here?” She was still confused at his emergence an still on edge.

Kit backed away quickly, claws skittering on the floor as the creature turned into a man. She growled slowly, inching towards him with caution, sniffing the outstretched hand. He didn't seem to pose any danger, so she relaxed.

Blair had been minding her own business when barking caught her attention. Not a playful bark, more like it was alerting danger. She abandoned what she was doing, ascending the stairs as she heard Cam scream.
She stopped short at the doorway of the bedroom, staring at the man crouched in front of Kit, posing anything but danger. "Elias? How did you get here?"

Elias winced at the shrill scream that rang in his ears, he was found out, and soon everyone in the home would be rushing to find him. This did not work out well. He dropped his hand from Kit and held a look of defeat on his face; this was the last thing he wanted to happen. He gave a heavy sigh, standing himself up to face Cam, “Please, I’m just trying to find Take..” he told the girl, recognizing her from last years adventure.

Elias watched as Blair followed up behind Cam, visibly alert by the girls scream. “I traced your life force here” he began, glancing around the room, “When I sensed it, I had to come find you since you and Take both disappeared on the same day.” He had plenty of questions about why they were all here in this house, in Russia, why some wore some... interesting clothing, and why there was literally a wolf outside. Though these questions were irrelevant at the moment, and Elias only sought out the whereabouts of Take. “I can’t sense Take’s life force at all..” he whispered, gaze falling down to the floor “Haven’t been able to since he vanished.”
