The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

The invisible person who was Charlie jumped into the air. “Oh, hey- Blair!” He said, excited that he had found someone from the group and she didn’t appear captured, skewered, or dead in general. He practically popped into existence and grinned at her, nudging Alex so he didn’t wander away. “I slipped away when those guys with spears showed up.” He blurted out, his words quick with relief.
Charlie tried to peer behind Blair, but only saw more Borealians(?) “Where’s everyone else?”
Needless to say, Blair was quite releaved when it turned out to be Charlie and Alex, and not something else. "They're over there somewhere," she told him, pointing towards one stall that had multiple bowls of soup. "Let's go back before they decide to up and leave us."

He tensed staring wide eyed at his hands. He could feel it's feet moving on his hand, and the warm body wiggling and trying to shove its head through the gaps in his fingers. He tipped his head to look though at the black fluff ball. It was so cool that he was holding a tiny living thing between his hands, and also, scary. He was afraid he might hurt it, it was so small it'd be easy to accidentally do something wrong.

"Kevin let me hold one of his chicks." Kipp said enthralled with the tiny baby that had chosen to doze off to sleep in the dark cave of his hands.
Take eyed the cup of white liquid curiously and began sniffing it. “Is this milk or something?” he asked before taking a sip of the drink. It tasted inherently sweet and clean, and after he smacked his lips a few times, there was no overpowering aftertaste. It certainly didn’t taste like any milk he ever had. Almost immediately it started to soothe his burning face and throat. He drank a little at a time as he watched the rest of the group continue to eat and interact with one another.
“It’s just milk.” Korim said. He wasn’t quite sure if it was regular milk though. The milk at his home tasted like you’d have expected, and this was more refreshing, like water.
Apparently the Rugæ have something worth coming for after all.
He contentedly sipped his spicy stew.

Cam looked over to where Kipp was holding a fluffy black chick. “Awww, Kevin gave you one of his chickies,” she cooed, looking more at the chick than Kipp.
She had never really paid attention to Kevin’s chicks, being too distracted by all the dangers of Borealis. But now she could see that they were really cute.

“Yeah they are adorable they definitely need names”

“I’m open to suggestions,” Kevin told her. He stuck his face closer to the bird, watching it sleep in his hands while making quiet peeping. “She’s my favorite.” He announced, pulling away.

Kipp didn't know how to describe the sound Mama made besides a purr. He had no idea a chicken could make that sound. She seemed happy and content, if a little annoyed that Kevin kept stealing her babies.

He slowly pulled his hands apart so he could see the little chick he was holding, gently rubbing a finger on it's fuzzy head. The chick of course woke up with the light, and attempted to force it's way out of his hands to freedom.

"Uhh, are they boys or girls?" He asked trying to keep it contained, and not really knowing what to do now that it had woken up.

Kevin looked at Kipp, wordlessly taking the black chick and replacing it with the white one. He murmured a few quiet words in Russian, stroking the chick as it quickly settled down. “There we go,” he said, “Now, what was your question? Boys or girls?” He looked down at the chicks, examining them. “This one-” he raised his hands to show the black chick, “-is a boy. The one Ari has is a girl, and everyone else is is a surprise.”

Kevin look up at Cam as she approached, smiling. He couldn’t remember what her name was, but he trusted her with one of his chicks.
He gently moved Mama, pulling out a plain yellow chick and handing it to her. Now there was only one chick left, peeping loudly in his bag as it snuggled closer to Mama.

“Awww, it’s a fluffy yellow one!” Cam said, carefully holding the chick in one hand and covering it’s back with the other, as she saw Kipp do.
The chick seemed super fragile, and she was worried she would hurt it somehow, so she knelt down.
She was secretly a bit disappointed because she’d never seen a non-yellow chick before. “What color will the black one turn out to be?” She asked. She imagined the yellow chick would turn out white, because that’s what the chickens she had seen looked like.

(We were showing off chicks at the community Easter Egg hunt and someone, upon seeing our multicolored chicks, said that all chicks hatch out yellow and turn other colors when they get a little bit bigger, lol. I always thought yellow chicks were white because my grandpa kept CX broilers. I’m gonna say Cam was in the second party.)

“He’s going to be barred,” Kevin explained. Upon remembering not everyone knew what that looked like, he did his best to explain. “Like. . . Black and white squiggles,” he cringed at his terrible description. “I don’t know how else to describe it.”

Ninety-eight percent of his attention was now on Cam, as he was quite pleased that she thought anything he was involved in was worth an 'aww'.

It was a good thing Kevin took the chick back when he did, but saying the new one was his favorite, before handing it to the now fully distracted Kipp, forced him to ignore Cam. The immense responsibility dragging his focus back to not doing anything wrong.

“I’m no good at naming things. So I won’t help you out there” Aria joked
