The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

@Butterscotchbitesfinger (Sorry I know this is disjointed, but I'm too tired to figure out how to write it better.)

Kipp led them down the hill, though he was edging further into the forest as they went. Both in the hopes of getting them out of sight, and the slope seemed to be gentler though the woods. Where it wasn't there were at least trees and things to grab on to. The hike down the hill seemed like it would never end, but he kept walking, putting one heavy foot in front of the other.

The final drop off to the sandy river bank which was mostly made of tangled roots and loose pine needles, wasn't much more than a three foot drop. He decided it was probably easy enough for the others to get down on their own, and hopped the short distance down.

Kipp's knees gave under him, and he fell to the ground, shivering with pain and exhaustion. They'd made it to their goal, the river, an imagined safe haven. That was good enough for him. He knew that they should keep going to find shelter, but just breathing felt like too much of an effort.

“This is Take and Blair,” she introduced, again adjusting her grip on the girl.
Take didn’t hold a smile on his face, and just stared blankly at the girl who assumably spoke English too. He half-heartedly brought up a hand just to acknowledge the introduction. “Alright whatever, we need to get going.” he muttered, turning quickly in the direction of the trees since they were what was laid out in front of them. “Kipp and the other kids should be in the forest somewhere..” he said under his breath as he walked off.
“They went in the forest?” she asked in disbelief. “That’s how we got captured in the first place!”
Jewels opened her mouth to say hi, but it seemed Take, wasn't all that interested in her anyway. She'd learned to keep her mouth shut and just listen. Kipp, and 'the others'? She wondered if that meant all of the people who had come here from Earth.

Grafe slid down the hill on his feet and skidded right past the group, sending water spraying as he plowed into the large puddle at the bottom. His attempt to remain semi-dry completely failing, as the water splashed up to his face.

He wiped a hand across his eyes, grimacing at the gritty brown water that had gotten in his mouth, eyes, and nose.

"Let's go." He said, only having stopped long enough to clear his eyes. He wanted to get to Seina as soon as possible. The thought of her being out here and still in danger was driving him to keep going. He didn't want her to be caught, and the only way he could guarantee that, was for him to be with her.

Take kept moving forward through the trees, not caring what direction he was going. He was fixed on what ever fallen tree or obstacle he had to get over, “I’m guessing that.. plus you said they were at the edge of the forest a while back, so they might’ve gone through here.” he finally answered. Jeez where are you guys... It was dark within the forest and not much rain broke through the top, a perfect cover for the time being. He yelled out Kipps name multiple times, along with Emma, Fred, Torin, and Noah, hoping to receive a response of any kind.

“Thanks” Ellie smiled warmly at him before springing herself up onto the rock offering her hand for him to grab “come on”
"No problem." He answered as he grabbed her hand, using her help to get up the steep climb.
Rylie was quite bothered by Buck’s ease of travel in these surroundings. Rylie’s jealously was probably, however, the only thing that prevented him from stopping and squeezing beneath a rock -there was an abundance of those- and taking shelter from the miserable rain. Instead he lept from rock to rock, miserably bedraggled and trying to keep up with the bigger cat.
Korim seemed to have no trouble climbing over the rocks, Cam observed. She was naturally clumsy and tended to slip and cause a small avalanche.
Buck watched as Rylie scrambled up a few rocks, feeling slightly bad for the smaller cat. He was definitely trying to keep up with him, he noticed, so for the house cats sake, he slowed his pace down so Rylie wouldn't have to struggle as much

“Wait,” she protested. “I can’t hear anything from in there. Besides, I don’t think Kipp would have gone in the forest. They all wanted to get to the river, which is that way.” She turned and pointed down the rest of the bank. “I think we should go there.”

“We were just debating over where we should go. I think we should look for them at the river, Take thinks we should look in the forest. What do you think? You can be the final vote.”

Fred dropped to his knees beside his friend, “Kipp! Are you okay Kipp?” He asked urgently. He was fighting an anxiety attack, was Kipp okay? Where were Chion and the kids? Where was the group? Where were they safe?

"Huh?" Grafe gave her a confused wide eyed look, then darted his eyes around the hill side and wall of trees. "I don't know which way to go. Seina might have wanted to go to the river, but then, that's where they'd expect us to go isn't it? She'd probably head west." He said, frowning up at the dark sky unsure which way west was. "If the hill weren't so steep and slippery I could just run down to the river and back, and tell you if they were down there. But..." He gestured toward the slicked down muddy grass, and red rocky cliffs.

It had been a long time since he'd felt like a toddler who'd missed their nap, but that was exactly how he was feeling now. The thought of moving again, or even just opening his eyes, made him want to scream and cry.

"I just need sleep." he whined, weakly turning his face into the cold wet sand. The cold from the rain had kept him awake to this point, that and the looming responsibility to get the kids to safety. But they were safe now. The river was safe. And even if it wasn't he didn't much care.
