The Honey Factory

My hive of Italians is apparently doing well. Every day they drag out one or two dead bees.

I am concerned about the Saskatraz hive because I have seen zero activity for over a month. No dead bees being dragged out and no flights on warmer days. It looks suspiciously like the whole hive may be dead but it is too cold and windy to take a look inside.

They drag out bees when it’s 0 degrees?

The Asian Hornet arrived here a couple of years ago. It's in the USA now.
We had 7 hives, 5 off which were doing well.
We took down the last hive last week. The hornets wiped the lot out.
It's very depressing to open a hive and not find a single live bee.
There are things you can do and if you keep bees, now is the time to research what works and what doesn't.
The good news is some French bee colonies have adapted and have worked out how to defend their hives.

I have life in my nice bees.
I saw no life and no dead bees outside the mean hive.

Lots of dead bees outside the nice hive, but still some flying around.

There were 2 bees dead on top the snow near the mean bees hive, but I think they were nice bees that flew a little too far and dropped dead. lol

It is sunny and calm out. I opened the Saskatraz hive and confirmed that the bees are all dead. I did find something that did not belong in the hive. I have never seen a wasp like this before.
