The Honey Factory

Nothing in bloom here so the bees are going to the neighbor's and stealing his chicken feed crumbles.
All I've seen is dandelions and whatever this is.

It appears not, or they are extremely sound sleepers. It has not been warm enough to open the hive yet, but I did take the insulation off on the south side.

I could. It hear them and I shook the hive and nothing came out. I would have been glad to have received a few stings even.

There is no way they would have ran out of honey. I am betting over half of it is still there. I left the hives with about 120 pounds of honey.

I last saw a bee on the 20th of Feb.
 
If you have a dead out, mix 1tbls of Dawn dish detergent to 1/2gal of water. Don't shake. Take 1/2 to 1 cup of dead bees on the bottom board and swirl them around in a container with the soap mix for a minute and strain out the bees. If it looks like this photo, you'll have your answer as to why they died.
