I think I have a pretty high pain tolerance. But I still hates a wasp sting. Last summer one flew up my shorts and stung me right on the cheek.

That was one cheeky wasp .

Do you see the 2 opened Queen cells?

There is capped honey (top left corner),honey and pollen ( orangish color) on this frame.

Same frame just a little different angle.

The Queen shouldhave hatched on July 2nd. All of the Queen cells are open or gone so I figure that is good.
I didn’t see her but as I told my husband, “ she could have walked across my hand and I probably wouldn’t have recognized her as the Queen “.
I didn’t see any larvae but I wasn’t expecting too since she may not have even taken her mating flight yet. I am thinking I should expect larvae in 2 weeks, maybe 3? I can’t see eggs with my eyes and glasses. So I have to watch for larvae. I thought about trying to use a magnifying glass but I’m thinking I would probably end up dropping the frame!

Thanks! If my queen follows suit then that should be this week around Wednesday!!
So far I can see the really tiny larvae but not the eggs.
