We picked up a nuc of bees, got them installed in the hive. One got into my bee jacket, but amazingly enough, I did not get stung. That was a bit of stress that I did not need. But it could have been worse; a bee could have died.

After 3 days of cool temps and rain the bees are back to work. Now at 91F they are booming and the "porch" is solid bees with partial bearding on the face of the hive. Baskets are packed full with Cranberry pollen, no smoke or suit to do a quick frame chk which was honey full. Did get whacked on thumb 'cause I pinched one. Oh well. I think I'll be taking a medium off of each established hive then decide if I want the other two.

Our basswood has bloomed the last two years. I wasn't paying attention before then, as we didn't have bees.
