The hunting/fishing thread!

Pics
have never hunted pheasant.....only bird hunting i’ve done is dove and turkey
Your missing out upland bird hunting is amazing
we had plans to go camping/fishing nearly every weekend this year, but with covid shutdowns, we have only been to 1 local lake for a single afternoon.......DH managed to book a long weekend at reelfoot lake for the weekend after memorial day.....we typically go in March for crappie, so I guess it will be bream and cats this year!
That’s sad, camping is super fun.
for boar hunting, I’ve used .44mag which is alsomy deer hunting rifle, i had to use my 9mm sidearm on my first boar. I tried compound bow, but after 2 broadheads “bounced off” i pulled out the rifle......DH took 1 with compound bow but his favorite is actually AR-15......DS made 2 identical shots on his 2 hogs with open sight Henry Big Boy
BOAR HUNTING??? I have wanted to do that but sadly there are none in Washington, i think.

We have boars round here, my neighbor with 30 acres shot a 350 POUNDER! I have had one destroy my garden and once knew a guy who had a boar get in and breed with his Champion Show Sow. I’ve never seen one (alive) but have helped butcher them and know many people who have shot em.

lol... usually u can about step on crows... walk out the door with a weapon of some sort and you cant get within half a mile of them.... actually when i say neighbors there about five miles from us and were good friends but its just crazy, we have no pigs and they have literally hundreds!

My brother said boars are becoming a growing nuance.

Maybe hunters will start earning for every boar they shoot .

I use to do more hunting ,but as a tradition I always keep a 22 above my doorway. Or That's the excuse I tell people any way. The barrel gets a shining during hunting season. One time I hit deer in my garden with it. That was a well placed shot. Their were 6 of them hanging around feeding on what was left over from the fall harvest.

Recently I was out mowing my 10acre and spotted 3 fawns. I almost hit a young one .
