The hunting/fishing thread!

Our archery season starts October 1st. I'm more excited for my great nephews than I am for myself.

Ok good fishing report . Me and my nephew got our limit of sunfish this morning . Nice size . Worms and leeches for bait . In about 20 feet of water . Never fished this deep for sunfish . They are where you find them .

Trying to get ready around other stuff……deer season open next Saturday and haven’t even scouted while squirrel hunting yet

Slowly getting ready for season. Hoping to go in a week or two archery mule deer hunting. Then got to get ready for my cow elk season. Plus black bear and muzzleloader white tail overlap that season.

If no luck i got 9 days in Dec to hunt cow elk and are season for rifle white tail is 2 weeks to a month in nov/dec. Depending on zone.

And to top all that starting Nov are squirrel season starts planing to try and snare a few. (There classed as a fur bearer here in sask so trapping/shooting is legal and no bag limits.) Got to set some beaver traps as well as there taking to many trees for my liking.

Oh also if winter allows maybe going for some wolf hunting. Neighbor does not like having to many around with his cows.

For years we've successfully used varmint calls for hunting coyotes . I've often wondered if that works for wolves being they hunt in a pack rather than solitary .

Our muzzleloader opens on oct 1st archery has been going for a month already here. Just been to busy to go.

For years we've successfully used varmint calls for hunting coyotes . I've often wondered if that works for wolves being they hunt in a pack rather than solitary .

I'm thinking none in wolf country has ever tried a varmint call .
