So sad - so very sorry. Poor cats, both of them. I have seen the heartache when an animal loses its best friend, species after species after species......................we humans certainly don't have the corner on that market.
If someone is/was poisoning, I hope you find out who and make them endure some wrath on behalf of the cats. Poisoning can have terrible unintended consequences - I could never use the stuff.
