I'm looking to breed some Cream Legbars and I'm wondering how important it is to seek those with a crest hairdo? I already have a young 1.5-2mo pullet with a nice crest on her head and would like to find a suitable cockerel and possibly some additional pullets for any future breeding.

How important is it that I make sure that the parents of the new chicks are "crested" as it were?

And if anyone here commonly deals with CCL hatching eggs, feel free to PM me.

Thanks,
Garrett

I'd say it's pretty important. The name of the breed is Crested Cream Legbar, the crest is an integral part of the look of the bird.

If you leave out the crest, you've just got another random blue egger, IMO.
