I have nine hens....four barred rocks and five production reds. The production Reds are about a month behind the barred rocks in age.
My barred rocks started giving me eggs around the first week in August this year, and at some point the PR's joined in. I would say that for the last month I have been averaging somewhere between five and six eggs a day.
Well folks, yesterday I hit the Lotto......nine hens, nine eggs. It was pretty darned cool. And yes, I understand that it might just have been an exceptional day, but I have to ask:
Would you say that, given my chickens' age, that they might still pick up the pace a little bit and give me a better average number than the 5 or six? When do the girls really hit their stride, so to speak ??
Thanks,
DD
