The Incubator Thread

When my son was little he used to play at farmer's markets, and blues fests and he would take his partridge rock bantam with him, it would sit on his shoulder while he played.

Sounds like maybe a thermostat issue, like its not sensing the correct temp and shuts off too soon. Or maybe a faulty heating element?
And if you don't have anything in it now, you might look for fuses up in the top. Mine is occupied, so I can't look, and I'm just thinking out loud, but it might be something you can easily fix. I've also seen pretty cheap replacement parts if you are handy enough to try to fix it.
Best of luck!
I will see what I can find about the fuses. I did google for replacement parts and can't find anyone who carries any such thing. If anyone knows of a company that carries the heaters, let me know.

Update on the incubator issues with the Egg Incubator. No go on finding parts.

The one chick I was trying to save never pipped.

Used my Farm Innovator incubator and just hatched 28 of 34 eggs. I used my Little Giant to keep them warm until they dried completely. Left them in the FI for a day at least though before I moved them. There were so many hatching at once!

Just filled it again with another batch of 32. I think I will use the FI for a while.

I have a brisea 20 advanced. I also have the advance humidity pump. I have a batch of eggs that are due to hatch Monday. I have the the humidity set at 46%. It says to bump it to 65% for hatch day .it says to increase the humidity to 65% during hatch. My question is do I set to 65 % with two days till hatch day ? Or do it now and leave it at 65% through out the hatch process?

Do you mean Monday - today Monday, 3/30? Sorry if you didn't get an answer to your question before now, but normally you bump up the humidity at lockdown day, 3 days before hatch day. I know nothing about the Brinsea 20, nor the advance humidity pump, so I'm just guessing. What did you do and how is your hatch going?

Well hatching is over. Ended up with 4 buff orpingtons babies and 7 BCM babies. :) so not great but not bad for first time on a new incubator. Had 2 of the BCM that died in the shell that had started to peep out. I think not enough humidity was the problem.

I put some eggs in mu LG incubator i manually turned them everyday 3 times a day. After 21 days nothing happened at all so i thought id give it another day or two. So after the 23rd day still nothing happened so i decided to give up on it.

I decided to crack open the eggs to see if anything had happened at all and our of 26 eggs 21 had blood in the yolk and the other 5 had what looked to be a very very small chick (looks to be like a chick the started to develop then just stopped at like a week or week and a half). Can someone please help me? Tell me if i did something wrong or what i can do to better increase the hate rate because i will be incubating more eggs here in the next 3 days and i dont want these eggs to end up like these past ones did. please send feedback thank you!
