any idea about Buff orpington ducks? how many days - I need to candle them to see if they are still viable, turning 4x a day did not always happen........

We are on day 25 now. I should likely increase humidity the next few days.

Sounds like it is time for the last squirt of warm water and the lock down begins

got a question for you guys more experienced, Lockdown is supposed to start tomorrow but it looks like I got at least one that is pipping already is this common?

it is one of the first eggs that we saved and took us almost a week to get enough, sorry read 101 but nervous.

this egg was fine last night and this morning it looks like it's got 2 chips out of it


It's a darker barred rock egg, not good lighting today though

I don't see the chips you're talking about, but... if they are there, I'd boost that humidity now, and go into lock down. How are your aircells? Is the pip in the aircell? Any chirping???

I do not see a chip/pip either---I see 2 spots. A chip/pip will look like a break in the shell. Have you candled them?? Have you smelled it?? If it stinks like a rotten egg---REMOVE it asap. If you feel its a chip, it want hurt to go into lock-down a day early. Increase your moisture, remove the turner or stop turning----close the incubator----"""""""""I"""""""ME"""""" would not open it again for NOTHING till they all hatch or day 22. If you have one to hatch a day before the others---it will be Fine sitting in there waiting for the others to hatch. If all that hatch---hatch a day early you probably got the temp of the incubator a little hot. Good Luck

It looks like 2 chips in the outer shell, they were not there yesterday or the check this morning,the egg was intact and nobody has been around the incubator until I checked this morning and this afternoon , followed the advise and went ahead and put it on lock down tonight humidity upped to 60-65

chips seems to be following the edge of air cell

several eggs are moving visibly though on the floor of incubator, no odd smells

not planning on helping em get out gimmie, was gonna candle tonight in prep for lock down tomorrow but not going to as we went into locke own half a day early.

will update if there's anything new
