A watched pot never boils. I would go take a snooze.

The humidity is probably fine. Fold a towel just big enough to lay on/cover a window which should help--then you should be able to pick up the towel for a quick look.. Don't let your water run out. I use a flex straw through the vent hole and a big meat injector syringe to add about 100 degree water when needed. Good Luck!well so far not hearing any peeps, and can't see in the window, but can hear movement in there.
As I said before this is first time in an incubator, is it normal for big spikes in humidity during lockdown? I had it at 60-65 and this morning now it's running 75-90 , with all plugs out as they have been the whole time, then goes back down to 60-65.
Usually covering the viewing widows for a few hours will clear them up----well it has for me. Don't worry about it now, but """""I"""" would not lay the eggs on paper towels. I feel it affects the air movement as well as the humidity around the eggs---but some might feel different. I do what works for me that gives me the best hatch. I Hope you have a great hatch.I just put it in at the 2 plug holes as theres no eggs right there with a ketchup thingy from the dollar store. don't get my therms, eggs or anything wet. Put layer of paper down under the eggs yesterday when was putting it on lock down.
Thanks, was interesting as our chickens lay super thick shelled eggs to see them look like they are stretchable. I am behaving though no opening. Tthinking I need to device a squeegee or mini wipers so can see the eggs in there for future hatches
Slordaz what was the date you put them in the incubator? I do not like the 85-90% humidity. Why its doing that---I figure your humidity meter is getting a drip of liquid at the sensor, But thats just my guess. I would stop putting water in the smaller water slot---if yours has a smaller and bigger place for water.day 21 and they've been rocking around for 4 days still not seeing any pips but can see in there well enough thanks to PD
the one that caused us to go into lock downearly is worrying me, membrane though where chip is still looks good but it is getting slower on the movement
temps are still steady put getting occasional humidity spikes i't usually 70-75% and every once in a while without doing or adding water it will spike to 85-90
