In every guess there's a 50/50 chance of being right... just like the key over a woman's pregnant belly... up and down is a girl and side to side is a boy... :idunno

Woohoo! Day 20! Cant wait for my baby! It looks like in totaly i will only have 1 to 3 hatch. So yesterday we went to ace hardware and got an easter egger and a delaware so they have friends. Princess lay-a. And Amelia. The one due tomorrow will be named jeffrey :)

My English Orpington eggs arrived this morning the other batch is sitting at the sorting facility 20 min from my house... Ugh I'm excited about the colors that were sent as I said surprise me she has quite a few colors I ended up w/ 3 of each red, chocolate, blk/molted split and harlequin!!! Was hoping to set them w/ the others that haven't arrived later tonight now do I wait or do I stagger the sets... I have one more coming Weds as it was miscommunicated that I wanted to set them today not have them sent... Lol why do I even try to plan anything! Hope all is going well w/ everyone's hatches

Oh goodness. I learned the hard way and will never do a staggered hatch again!
I had to build a second incubator to accommodate the little eggys.
I was so excited i just couldnt wait until i had all my eggs!
Honestly, i think youll be better kff waiting, but i know how exciting it is! Whatever you choose, i hope it works for you!

Well I have incubator now trying to regulate the temp on my Brinsea mini it cooked 2 batches ugh it hold temp once it's set but it was 10 degrees off ugh. I monitoring closely w/ an external digital that's been super reliable. I'm locking down Sunday in one of my Janoel so I will have room to move them around after that hatch so they will go into lockdown seperartly over a few days instead of trying to do them all together. I have read ppl setting different eggs every 2 days in the same bator that I won't do! Waiting on ups and usps annoys me

always messing up my plan! Lol we r going on an overnight and wanted them all in lockdown the morning we leave but looks like that isn't going to happen and I only have limited turning space if not doing it by hand is my dilemma if I wait.... These should be ready to lockdown and I should have enough turner space for the others that are coming later only reason I wouldn't wait... Not ideal!!!

Cool! You will have yours going before long! Good luck on your future hatch!

Does anyone know anything about deformed heads in embryos? I think my amerecauna eggs are all deformed. I noticed last week when i was candling that it looked like the babies had extra growth on their head. I ignored it. But one died so i cracked it open. And it looked like maybe its brain grew outside the skull and skin grw over it? It looked about 10 to 12 days old. I can see that all of the ameraucana have it. But none of my other breeds. I bought these eggs from my neighbor.
Is this just hoe this breed forms? Or is something wrong thats gonna kill off all my amerecaunas. I didnt take a pic. But i will try to find what it looked like

I have no idea, but maybe someone will come long who has raised chickens for longer than I have that may answer your question.
