Okay everyone I'm on day 22 and I have not seen any piping or movement. Humidity is on 60 since day 18 and temp is between 99.5 and 100. Should I be worried? It's my first hatch and I don't want to be a worry wart. What is the latest day any of you have had eggs hatch?

If you are hatching baby chicks, you might wake up to some chicks in the morning. My New Years Day hatch was a bit slow and stretched out in happening. It might be because of the weather. Be patient, and give them another day. Mine all started trying to exit the eggs on the bottom side of the egg.

Thanks, I've read of people "assisting" baby chicks in hatching but I'm uncomfortable with that. I will hopefully be posting on here in a day or two with excitement

I candled a few and no life but a few it was to dark to see anything. No movement or piping. I'm heartbroken and disappointed. The eggs were from my Easter Egger hen and Delaware roo. And the oldest egg I had was 10 days. So I don't know

What was your humidity for first 18 days? That mix would have been great

My humidity was between 45-55. I have a little giant still air incubator and bought a hygrometer for it because I bought the incubator used and didnt want to trust the readings on the screen.

From previous posts I assume you have a 9300.

For still air temp should be 101 taken at top of egg.

For these probably the best method is dry incubation. Don't add water til shutdown. Then fill channels should make it 70 plus.

The one I had to get temp close right had to set at 103.5. The temp indicator on it was pretty not even close.

Plus since the heat element wasn't centered it had hot or cool spots in the corners of up to 5 degrees. To combat this rotate eggs from outside to the inside every couple days.

Since your temp were low you might give them another day or 2. At least til day 25.

Mine has the egg turner so I don't have to worry about turning the eggs. So you are suggesting that I make the temp 101 until hatch and keep humidity level same as I have been doing?
