FluffTheDuck
Duck love is recognizable in any language
So one year ago, I picked up two baby ducks. One named Quakers, who is the male, the other a female, named Donald. Let me skip to the kind of past time (Actually 2 weeks ago). It was raining then and it was cold, in East Alabama. It surprised me. The ducks were out, which was fine with me because they LOVE rain and forging. I was filing papers when I looked out the window, it was hailing! I got an umbrella and rushed outside. I was looking around anxiously. No sight of my two, big, wonderful, happy Pekin ducks. Could they have flown away?? I was screaming at the top of my lungs "CHEEP CHEEP CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!" Because I taught Quakers, whenever I said that, to RUN to me. No sight of them. How could this happen?! They were my babies! They were everything to me. Why could this of happened? How? Well. I thought the best answer was that they flew away. The umbrella started ripping. I quickly ran and went to the duck house. I couldn't see anything past 5 inches in front of me. I pulled lettuce out of my pocket and started screaming "CHEEP CHEEP CHEEEEEP!", and my heart was silently crying inside me. I ripped the lettuce and let go of it, letting it fall onto the ducks' floor. I changed the water and gave them more food, hoping that that will encourage them to come back. I dropped to the ground and started to cry. I stayed there for about 5 minutes. I was about to get up, and what was that?? Umm... It's heavy. On.. My back. I put my arms around the weight and it was feathery! Oh! My Quakers!!! He's back! I quietly said "cheep cheep cheeeep!" and he came over to my face and very gently bit my nose. I got up, and I looked around. Donald? I carried Quakers with me. I screamed again, "DONALD!!!!" and Quakers gently bit my nose, again. Right then I tripped over something. I felt it, and it was feathery. "Oh, Donald!" I carried both of them to the house and set them in a nice, warm brooder, just in case they had any injuries.
