The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

can any body tell me how far along this egg is my khaki Campbell is doing it on her own it's our first time doing this she has four eggs three for sure have jumping beans I'm not sure about the fourth one but I left it in her nest just incase its ok

Can someone take a look at my photos in this thread? I think I have a pekin duckling with what I think is niacin deficiency issues. I've started a supplement in their water just in case.

Saw your response, thanks a ton. I'm glad to know I'm on the right track for helping him/her out. We had jsut finished a nice warm bath right before those pictures were taken.

Please keep us posted. I have wondered if for those cases some time - not all the time - but some time, during the day, with a vet wrap to help keep the joints aligned. Somewhere I read about people setting up little slings - like the baby jumpers that attached to the door frames, remember them? But what I have seen are like hammocks on wheels.

I think I'm going to isolate him tonight w/ some niacin water to make sure he's getting as much as possible. I'll also look into the sling rigging and see if that's something possible.

I started a thread about this in the general duck section. I noticed my other pekin seems to also be exhibiting symptoms now as well.

There is some debate as to the efficacy of niacin given in water since it is a water soluble vitamin. You may consider sprinkling some on the duck's food instead. Just a thought but do what you think is right. No method is really wrong.
