The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

So if I have 4 ducks, each a matched pair, am I looking at potential issues? I have 6 right now, but plan to thin out to a matched pekin pair and a matched khaki pair.

Is today the deadline for photo's for the "other birds" calendar? @ChickKies might consider offering this one!

Thanks, Amiga!! Tomorrow is the deadline...

Please don't forget...deadline for "other poultry" calendar picture submissions is tomorrow. I know I've seen some wonderful pics on the duck threads that haven't been submitted yet...

I've been waiting for my ducks to lay and they are 20 weeks. Thought the eggs were supposed to be big but couldn't figure out which chickens eggs these were. Now I'm thinking they are my 2 female khakis. The eggs are just slightly bigger than my bantams eggs. Is this normal? And do you all think the egg in the middle is a duck eg? The small white one is my bantam and the brown is my Orpington. Thanks!!

Looks like it could be a duck egg, kinda hard to tell for sure.

I'm sure that -like chickens- ducks start out with smaller eggs when they first begin laying. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Mine are all at 16 weeks tomorrow so I need to start planning a bit for potential eggs. I think some of my boys may be starting to pick on each other a bit so it may be time to thin things out some :(
