Hi all,

I'm new to the group and looking for a couple of adult or juvenile KC to buy if anyone has any in the Pacific Northwest.

I'm in Blaine, WA and willing to travel a bit for adults.

I can buy ducklings in the local feed stores but for a variety of reasons I would prefer older birds.

PM me if you have any to part with.

Thanks
Molly Craig

Hi All,

I may have found some adults to buy. The owner sent me a picture and I've circled four that look like Khakis to me. Can you just confirm if you agree?

All advice appreciated.

Yes, they look like pure khaki MALES. I'm not sure but from what I can see they look like males because of the darker head. But defiantly khakis

Thank you, that's what I thought. I wasn't sure about purebred because the one I think is male (top circle, bottom bird, very green beak and much darker head) has orange legs and aren't they supposed to have brown legs and feet? I won't know until I see them in person but I'm very happy just to be able to buy adults instead of ducklings.

Very excited. Was talking with the owner and I originally only wanted two but have decided to take all 4. She confirmed 3 females and a drake who do hang together and she was happy I wanted them all because she didn't really want to split them up. I think they will be a happy little family here with me.

I will pick them up on Tuesday. Monday I'll get food, bedding and a kiddie pool and clean out the old chicken coop for them (it was here when we bought the house). Will have to remove the chicken boxes and roosts and remove ?carpet? off the floor (who puts carpet in a chicken coop? winter insulation maybe? I don't know)

I'm thinking I should coop them up for a day or two until they settle before letting them out to range.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Green bills are good on males. Not yellowish, green. And yours looks green. Mine is perfect showing quality, he has orange feet, so yours is great quality!

I'd keep them in for a week before free ranging. Mine were penned up for a week but it took them a while to actually come out of the pen, and to become friendly with the others.
