The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

Pics
Woohoo so Tuesday I purchased 29 khaki Campbell eggs from a local man for 10 bucks he claims they are fertile and even cracked one open to show Me fertility anyway I've hatched plenty of chicken eggs but these are my first duck eggs and helpful hints I have read that ya wait till day 5to 7 to candle and don't toss any no growers till day. 14 anyway I'm nervous and wanted to ask on the kc thread
I usually wait until day 10 to candle my Khaki eggs. For sure you will know by then if they are fertile. Lockdown is day 25 and you want the humidity in the high 60's - low 70's during the last 3 days. Hatch day is day 28.

Is this breed very loud? I know pekins are

Not really. Now and then a female will quack loudly when they see an intruder or sense something else is amiss. Mine usually quack when the hear my truck door close after I get out of it when I get home. I usually call to them and they quack back. Other than that you mostly don't hear from them other than subtle talking to each other. This usually happens when they see food coming, being let out in the morning, and being put in at night. They always have to "discuss" these things.

ok cause I live in a neighborhood. Our pekin is a loud quacker, and our drake isn't too back and my muscovies are quiet.

So i just want a second opinion, my first opinion is very trustworthy, Im just a worry wart. I put 125 mg niacin in my ducklings gallon waterer. I have seven 5 day old ee chicks in the brooder with them. Can the chicks drink that water too? Or do have to divide the brooder? can the chicks eat brewers yeast?

I am a new duck owner (I have 8 chickens and love them) so I bought 4 khaki Campbells from tsc have had them for almost 2 weeks now. They act scared to death of me! I hold them let them swim dry them well point is I'm handling them talking to them in the brooder and they act crazy! Any suggestions? They are also bigger than what 2 week ducklings look like online. 2 of them have yellow necks now and feathers coming in at their tails and wings. They are getting bigger and stinkier than I anticipated compared to my chicks. It is cold here in Maryland so they will be in the house at least another month. Any suggestions on the smell and the mess? Thanks guys I need advice please!

Thank you I did read this the day I brought them home. I guess I wanted some suggestions what others are doing for their freaked out behavior.....
Also the yellow around the necks on the two could they possibly be crossed, mixed or males? Thanks

Can you post some pics that way hopefully we won't just be making random guesses. as far as behavior they do go through stages where they think we are a predator getting ready to eat them. Next time your at TSC if you have one close by pick up a pack of dried mealworms and toss some into the tub when they are playing once they get a taste and are comfortable with them being in the tub. sit down next to the tub and put some on you hand right level with the water so they can see them but are not floating in the water I'm thinking once they get use to eating mealworms you'll be their hero and not the boggie man. It takes time and we always have to go slow around ducklings. Other things ducklings like is peas little green ones, get frozen and thaw in microwave and toss some in their tub or drinking water, shredded romaine lettuce too, just be sure to offer grit when feeding anything other than their crumble.
