The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

Our eggs today. We got our khaki Campbell egg Was thinking it was a leghorn until today when we got our leghorn eggs

i would bet someone other than a khaki laid the eggs labeled Khaki..........they will hide eggs and other moving about can unearth them. Khakis dont lay tints eggs (even when first laying) and duck eggs are more a porceleon finish to them not the dull "egg shell" finish like chicken eggs. The oblong (1 oclock positioned egg) is more on spot for size and shape of a khaki egg.

(have had Khakis for 3 years, many clutches equalling thousands of eggs laid...............all were white

Khaki laid them. I separated her from others in a different coop by herself and she laid another, same color a little bigger.

My Khaki's eggs are also all white, rounder on the big end, more pointy toward top. I do think a Khaki could've laid that egg in the beginning stages of laying tho. I've seen eggs shaped exactly like that here, but I always thought they came from a Rouen or mixed. I have gotten some pretty strange looking eggs from my ducks & once a bluish hued egg from a Runner. Then white every time thereafter. :-/

at firs I thought it was my Mallard who laid it, but as I said I separated on my my khaki hens in a totally different coop by herself and the next morning she laid her egg,same as the picture. I'm sure once her body works out all the kinks we will get big white eggs from her

my khaki hen's first eggs had a heavy pale greenish waxy coating on them
and slowly her eggs went to whiteish with a bare hint of the palest green
and still a waxy coating. I only have khakis so it's not any other duck.

this last egg had like white blotches to it. really weird. So maybe her body is working on getting white eggs ours don't have a wax coating. is it the bloom maybe?

I would think it is the bloom she is putting on the eggs......it's not
quite a wax but feels very close to waxy.......odd feeling.

Ah, yes our chickens have that. Can't really feel it unless they are freshly laid and still warm almost like a sticky coating

I'm in northern IN, Michigan City to be exact. Does anyone know of anyone within, say an hour, that has some khaki Campbell hens for sale?

I would love to have one or two but can't seem to find any for sale around here

I got my KC from murray mcmurray on the 10th i expect they were 3-4 days old this is the irst time.ive raised any ducks but im.hoping to turn it into a little local "hatchery" any tips and info on the growing stages feathering stages when they can go outside im.in NC so the days are 85-95 nights are 70-80 i also have 3 rouens wouls like to know.any tips.on how to get the hens to o broody if therr are any thanks.in advance(;;;; (;
