The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

THE only kaki Campbell's I have seem with a white bib are cross breeds.
PLEASE CORRECT MY IF I AM WRONG.
I have got Peking and Aylesbury with a kaki Campbell male and I get the bibbed babies

I have 2 khakis little over 2 months old, one seems to quack the other just makes an odd lost my voice kinda noise lol. Is there any marking differences I can look for at this age?

The one that makes an odd noise is throwing me off bc I've never had a duck sound like that lol!

I am definitely an amateur so I could be totally wrong, but as the ducks mature I believe one of the differences that starts to show between males and females besides the tail feathers is the voice; females quack normal and clear and males develop a raspy quack. So maybe you've got a male there?

I've been thinking male n female. But the ones voice sounds nothing like my other males either lol. I also have had 2 white pekin mix girls sound like boys for the longest time lol. Oh well guess I'll just wait for a drake feather. I'm just dying to name them!

Hey guys,
I've had a pair of Khaki-Campbell ducks for a few weeks now and in order to help them (and their half dozen chicken sisters) realize that hands aren't scary I've been feeding them some lettuce (and the chicks meal worms) by hand. All was going well til the past couple days, when the ducks have started to also bite at my hands. It isn't hard and doesn't appear to be aggressive, but I can see it becoming a problem when they get a bit bigger.. Will it stop on it's own? or is there something I should be doing to stop it? Can I keep giving them treats by hand, it does appear to be making all the difference in everyone being afraid of my hands.

Is it a really fast nibble type of bite? They're "grooming" you. It means they like you. Mine are 5 weeks old, and their "bite" doesn't seem to be getting any worse than it was when they were smaller.

Also, ducks really like meal worms, too. Peas and kale are a huge favorite as well.

DuckBro, and Calvin (both girls I think...) have been starting to like the meal worms as well, but at first they wanted nothing at all to do with them, and the chickies don't like the lettuce, so it seemed fair to split it up, now the duckies get both, 'cause the lettuce is fresh and good for them.

How old are they? My Cayugas used to nibble at me when they were babies. Then when they went outside they became more cautious. Now they see me coming and run to greet me, of course I have food for them. They don't nibble any more and I do not feed them by hand any more but they do gather around such that I have to be really careful not to step on them.

Watch how they groom themselves. It's the same thing, but they're doing it to your funny human skin that has an appalling lack of feathers.

So I lost my first duck and greatest duck, Ducky a week ago. She was just over 2 years old and one day didn't look herself. I brought her in and cuddled her on my bed and she passed wrapped up in the warm blanket, just laid her head sideways and fell asleep.

I went to the hardware store to purchase a rose bush to plant on top of her grave I dug and while I was there it was like fate. They had one duckling, 2 days old, another Khaki. I swooped it up like no other. This one I imprinted on humans. She has been a doll so far. I am so happy with her. She loves doing laundry with me, watching TV shows with me, loves stealing food off my fork and spoon, haha. Sleeps every night nuzzled up between my neck and cheek.

Has anyone else ever had an imprinted Khaki? I am afraid she can't/wont live outside with the chickens and other ducks now. But that is okay, I can deal with a house duck.

Her name is Maggie.
