At what age can you properly tell the sex?

Around 12 weeks or so. You should be able to tell by their quack before that - females quack and males rasp.

At dusk, I started to lure my ducks into the pen by shaking a plastic tub of meal worms. Once they got near, I put mealworms on the ramp to their night box. After about 1 week 3/5, (all of the girls ) go in by themselves without worms. The boys need a little verbal coaxing.
I shake the tub of mealworms if I need them to come to me. All of my babies love them.
For me, luring them works MUCH better than chasing them.

Mine are 9 weeks and the quacks are very obvious, looks like we have 1 duck and 4 drakes I was hoping for at least one more duck but at least we didn't get all drakes

It's a right bugger telling who makes what noise. Lou and rocky are quacking but dotty the smallest is making a ssqueak still and not very often. Dots is also despite being the smallest getting a wee curl to her/his tail. Lou I'm certain us a girl due to quack and feathers but rocky (Aylesbury) exhibits male behaviour but has no curly tail...I'm on the fence.

Well maybe we will get a surprise and get another girl One is smaller and lighter and she quacks all the time big lough and strong lol, all the rest are bigger, darker heads, their wing feathers are a darker black, and they have the raspy quack, I guess we will find out in a month or two

@walker1229 you know about how important it is to protect your female, right? If she is one, and the rest are drakes, her health and her life could be at risk. I am not overstating this. She depends on you for safety.
