The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

I'm not sure mine is a KC, but it seems to be the closest breed I can find. What do you think?

My eclipse babies! Two hatched at the peak of the eclipse. We named them Shadow and Luna. The other two came a few hours later (the last at supper time)

and are Solar and Cena. All of my hens and one of my drakes are Khakis but one of my drakes is half Khaki and half Appleyard. He must be the father of the duckling with the facial stripes.

Hey, this thread looks kind of dead, but I figure I'll ask anyway. I've kept khakis for a long time, and am looking for some new blood. Does anyone know if there are any very high production, decent quality lines of Campbells?

I wound up with a dark campbell girl that is now going on 5 and has stopped laying. I have no idea who bred her, but she and the other hen I had layed daily until about 3 (fox got the other one) where as my Metzer girls that I had were crazy-broody and nervous and only lay every other day or so when not sitting and were young. That's a BIG difference in production. Anyone out there knows their campbell lines?

Okay, they're turning 21 weeks tomorrow. At what age should we start to be concerned?
No need to be concerned they will lay when their body is ready should be very soon. What are you feeding and have you put out oyster shell for extra calcium? Probably laying like gang busters by now. lol

My first two Khaki's came from the feed store, Stockdale's and my female has given me an egg a day for almost two years (my male is really pretty as well). The clerk at Stockdale's told me the name of the hatchery they get them from when I bought them. I think it was Mt. Healthy Poultry in Ohio.

Thanks! I've heard of them. They might have a good line going then. I'm going to keep collecting info while enjoying my remaining khaki duckers. It's kind of surprising how hard it is to find info on the different lines of Campbells. Maybe I'll get some from mt healthy.
