The Kitchen Table - come sit with us! new request added to post 1!

Hey guys.

Question 30: I plan on doing school, and my grandpa and aunt are coming to visit for a bit, so that's my official summer break. Otherwise, I'll be stuck at home if the past few months are anything to go by.

Do you get breaks from school at other times during the year? hope your grandpa and aunt stay for a nice long visit.

I think you should host a mascot to instill some summer fun into your plans.

I get breaks from school every time I watch my brothers. That ammounts to almost every day. But seriously, I get breaks for my birthday, Easter, a bit of summer, July 4th, Thanksgivving, Halloween, and Christmas.

Well, Grandpa's gonna stay for a month, so...

Where would I take him? I suppose he could play with my other plushies.

sounds like a month off then? that's pretty good.

the mascot can play with your chickens, too, and show us the desert landscape!

Yup. A month off of nothing but hanging out with Grandpa. He's awesome.

That sounds like fun, although I'd have to drive to get to the desert landscape. Out here, it's brush. Maybe there will be a tumbleweed and the mascot can sit in it!

so, are you a firefighter? I don't think I knew that. Sounds dangerous and exciting all at the same time.

hi mamagardener! long time no see!

Tending a really cool veggie garden sounds like a great summer!

Orp, no I'm not a firefighter. I work in fire camp and I'm one of two and we are in charge of the finance section...we're the people that makes sure everyone gets paid. The firefighters come see us, usually on a daily basis, to turn in their time and then again on the way home so they can see how much they will be paid...and they know how much it should be! I'm usually not close to the fire. There is no danger and nothing exciting happening.

Note #30 - What are your summer plans?

Well next week we are going to tour the ozark medieval castle http://www.ozarkmedievalfortress.com/ and spend the night in Harrison, AR. It's not far from home or anything super-fancy, but that's what we're doing for our anniversary on the 13th (4 years!)

We are taking the lazy dog with us, coz she won't mind the long car ride or boring stays, and my little sister is going to keep my rambunctious Lab so he won't have to be cooped up alone at home. The chickens and smaller critters will be fine for one day if we feed before we go and then the next night when we get back -- their feeders hold enough to keep them covered and I set them up with an auto-waterer this week too so they are all set for short trips

We are gonna stay in a small jacuzzi suite and enjoy the hotel stay just doing NOTHING but lounging around all evening!!!!!!!!

For the rest of the summer I immagine that we will limit our travels to weekends at the river or lake -- since we both work in a retail type world it's not like we get tons of paid time off so we will have to work a lot. We will do what we always do, sleep, chores and work, same ole same ole.

In other unrelated stuff, I've finally decided on how to decorate my room! *happy dance*

Happy Mother's Day! Hug a mom today!

Noncentzer - sorry to hear your job is neither dangerous nor exciting.

We all need to get our heart pumping fast occasionally. I'm thinking you must have an adrenaline-filled hobby..... (my mind is taking in the possibilities)

Tala, a little history and a lot of relaxation. Sounds perfect!

Congratulations on 13 years!

PK, you are the inspiration for today's note....

Note #31 - Would you consider you consider your bedroom a sanctuary or a wilderness?

Mine is a wilderness. It is one of the few rooms that still need renovating, and I just crammed all the stuff from the spare bedroom in there to make room for the new renter. It's a seriously scary place!

I need a plan.

Happy Mothers Day, y'all!

Question 31: A wild sanctuary, I guess. It's not bad, but it could be so much better.
