I don't know my way around Martinez too well. But she is sort of in town. It didn't seem like the stores were that far away. She lives in some apartments, there's a pool there, and she has lots of trees around her place. I don't get to her place too often, I always have to ask for directions each time I go. That would be cool if we could meet up next time I go to her place. Maybe this summer when I have time off again. I do know the name of the street she lives on though! Is there a hiway 4 off 80 maybe that I could be taking to get there? And then there is a bridge of some sort and tracks I think, then you go a ways and then turn left. gosh, i wish I could remember the name fo the main road I'm thinking of.

I have a problem with holding the shift key down trying to gets caps sometimes, please forgive!!

I've also had a rough few months. Do you remember reading about when I found my neighbor on the floor and I didn't know if she was alive or not. Anyway she is doing well now. I take my pony up to visit her. I showed her how he has a winter coat. Last weekend i took him up there to show her he is starting to shed. I showed her his hooves, how they needed to be trimmed, and they were breaking and trimming their selves.
After I got done filing them, I took him back up there and showed her his trimmed hooves, and I took the big file with me to show her the tool I use. I also told her about how when I first got him I couldn't really pick up his back feet because he would try and sit on me. Well, with my hip and all, it was very difficult, and now after two years of working with him, he does let me pick up his feet, and only recently have I been able to start trimming them myself, and he stands quietly and doesn't sit on me anymore!
She was amazed and said she learned a lot that day.

Debi, real life SHOULD get in the way of our online lives once in awhile. Your situation certainly would not be one I'd wish on anyone, if it was in my control. (Poof, things are better! Wish I could do that.) But, getting away from here sometimes is good for us.

Broodies aren't as much fun as they used to be. Sorry you have a mean one. So, how many eggs do you have right now? Inquiring minds want to know...

Boo, the change in format kept me away fro, here for a long while, too. It was exhausting to face, even though I knew there were probably a ton of reasons for the changes. But, I had so much going on in my life that I decided to postpone dealing with the New BYC. I still can't find half of the things I want.

The railroad trestle is over top of Alhambra Ave. I'm not sure where the apartments are, unless they are near Hwy 4 (yes, 80 to 4). I live in the same direction, but wayyyy downtown just a couple blocks from Main St. There are some apartments down here, but I don't know of any with a pool. But, I don't really pay attention.

Animals have an amazing way of helping people in big and small ways, even if it is secondary and not directly. What a great story!!!! Where is Algae? (Chickenalgebra, Steff).

I have almost a dozen duck eggs, which I keep for baking, and 4 dozen chicken eggs. I would probably have more if Miss THANG hadn't flown off the nest screeching at me with murder in her eyes. She can keep them!!!!!

Some of my chickens are kind of wild. When I go into the pen, they go bazerk. They all try to escape, many times with success. And a couple of them like to fly out the door past me. Yep, it gets a little crazy. I just laugh at them though. Eventually they will learn. Only a few of them are friendly enough and sometimes do the squat thing so I can pet them.
I am having a spelling problem tonight.
