The Kitchen Table - come sit with us! new request added to post 1!

Note #9 - camping or motel? If you camp, tent or trailer. If you motel, motor lodge, or 5-star?

Camping!!!! Tent -- although I was thinking of rigging up a tarp roof and just sleeping in the back of the truck next time.

I really like camping, but it was really hard when I worked overnight. Nothin to do in the woods when you are used to staying up all night with electricity!

Dh still works overnight, and I don't much camp alone, so I doubt we'll go much this year either.

Um.........PK - I'm sorry, I thought you meant you burned yourself on purpose! People do that, and I'm so glad that wasn't the case! No burn is good, but a small burn by accident is a little bit better. Hope you're OK.

Did you get that snow the other day? Or should I not ask?

My parents live 1200 miles from us, so my husband and I travel a lot by car. Flying is too expensive. Anyway, we break the 1200 mile trip into 2 days, and stay the first night at a motel. Usually a Super 8.

On the camping note - I have never been camping! Not once! My husband owns 40 acres way, way, back in the woods and I've been bugging him for 2 years to go camping there on weekends. It's not that far away, but it's so far back in the woods that there's no one around, and you can't hear cars going by or anything. Maybe this year will be the year we finally go camping.

chickie pics YEAH!!

I have one little peanut... she is in between the feeder and water on above photo and here you can really see how underdeveloped she is compared to all her hatchmates. What is up with that?? She is supposedly an EE just like several of the others.

And we had the most beautiful sunset tonight. The whole sky was pink... (you have to love smog)... but you can barely see it in this pic.

Hope everyone had a good Monday. I got cancelled from work because of low census so got an extra night at home. CP and I did some sewing today so that was really fun.

PK.. hope your arm is feeling better, and hope your day today was better than yesterday.

Debi... beautiful horses... you are truly blessed...

Stef... hope work slows down for you. We miss you

Luna... hope your feeling better. How is that bruising doing??

So lets try a question #10 Which is your favorite season and why?
I love spring because all the flowers blooming and the warm weather and everyone is so happy. And I love fall because of the changing colors and the relief from the heat of summer and I know winter and snow are coming... but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE winter and all the snow and cold. It makes me giddy...

And I hate summer.. hate the heat...

your peanut is probably a roo

I like summer coz i am cold natured and can't tolerate the cold. I get tired of wearing layers of clothes and being cold all the time. What I really enjoy about summer is being able to go outside without stopping to load up on coats and shoes. I like running out barefooted. I live in tank tops. I love heat and I don't like clothes, so summer is for me. Plus I like swimming too.

NOOOOO please don't let Zinnia be a roo. That would break my heart. She is not only underdeveloped, but she is much smaller than the others. She eats and drinks and poops just fine, she just doesn't seem to grow. I was almost wondering if she was a bantam. Please don't let her be a roo

jeaucamom the chicks are beautiful, hope little one comes along well.

Orp. I love camping but have not been for ages, I have stayed in hotels when working in London, that is fun, I found a lovely place where I used to love summer evenings up there close to the Parks and friendly staff,

As I always used to travel alone it was important for me to find places where I felt safe to stay.
PK, be careful, especially when cooking, hope your arm feels better soon.

I forgot,

Seasons, I love Spring and Autumn, but if Summer is warm and nice that is growing on me too as I get older. lol.

Winter used to be my favourite but I no longer enjoy being cold all the time.

I love spring and fall. Here in Texas, sometimes it's hard to tell what season it is. Since living here my favorite season is spring. Central Texas in the spring is glorious. There are so many wildflowers and just about every home has either Carolina Jessamine (jasmine) or Lady Banks Roses. Both the roses and jessamine have lovely arched branches covered with yellow blossoms. The pictures of carpets of bluebonnets are completely accurate, and so pretty. The weather is also delightful, around 70-75 during the day, and cool at night. In a good spring, it doesn't get hot until the end of May. Evening walks are wonderful, you walk through neighborhoods with the smell of honeysuckle and jessamine, hear doves cooing and don't work up a sweat. You can also camp in March and April and not freeze your heiny off.

I hate summers in Texas, too darned hot. And the heat in September just offends me. Growing up in the north, September is the beginning of fall, here it is just more summer. Yep, 95 in September just offends me, and by then I'm so sick of the heat, I'm praying for the first cold front.
