The Lair....Quilt Central...Woman Cave-New Projects in Progress!

I'm going to use the dark red print with gold stars that is in several of the strips, Kathryn. The floral seems to flimsy to use as binding. I bet it would wear out easily on the edges. That red print is actually something that Thousands of Bolts sent me by accident-they sent me someone else's order, then told me to just keep it.

It sure was! They have nice quality fabrics, too. I ordered a few on that end of year sale they had.

Since I'm using black quilting thread, every stitch shows on the lighter or more solid looking fabrics. Have to be really careful, but I like being able to see every stitch so I can make them better. Doing the border now-sure notice the yellow chalk in a photograph, don't ya? Have to brush that away as much as possible after it's finished and before I put it up for sale.

Added letter sorter units for more fabric rather than buy another one of the huge ones. Still, not all my fabric is displayed, but the bulk of it is. Later on, maybe I can get a big shelf unit built or something, but this makes it so easy to see what I have. That large piece of purple on top left is a quilt back for my next bed quilt. I think it will be a Tennessee Waltz pattern in 12" blocks, in purples, greens and sunny yellows, sort of an Ode to Spring, but not sure when I'll start on that yet. Need to do a few smaller projects first.

Thanks! I love having the fabric displayed this way. Puts me in a "project sort of mood" just to look at it. Almost finished with the bed runner. Hopefully, will start the binding today. Cold and rainy, brrrr!

Working on another bed runner, from a book on bed runners sent to me as a suprise gift by my very awesome friend, Terrie Lacy. This one is a Courthouse Steps block. I have the 5 blocks finished and assembled and will work on the borders tomorrow. First pic shows the book open to the page with the instructions and the first block I did. Of course, I don't have the exact fabrics in the book and I have very few reds, but certainly enough for this project.
